    I have the '10 4cyl 4x4 Access Cab 5sp.

Current oil fill is with Pennzoil Platinum 5W30
Next oil fill is with Amsoil ASL 5W30

Current filter is a Pureone PL20195 (oversized)

FWIW, the PL20195 will work on the 4 & 6 cyl. It is the same filter as the PL10241(stock) but just 1.4" longer. Both have a dome-end bypass valve and are available on Amazon 2/$9.48.
The PL25230 will work also and is the same filter as the PL20195 but with a thread-end bypass and costs 2/$13.20 if you care about which end the bypass is on.

    I didn't know about the PL25230. I do use the 20195 though.

Off topic for filters for a second, I had a virgin oil analysis done for the Toyota OEM 0W-20 full-synthetic motor oil recently. It looks very good. Good viscosity, excellent viscosity index, appears to have a very strong anti-wear additive package. (zinc/phosphorous Moly, and Boron):

Should be just fine in Phoenix. OTOH, as hot as Phoenix is then maybe 50 weight might be better.:D

    I use Pennzoil Conventional, 5w-30.

Q: I have 115K on my truck and I change every 3-to-5K miles, but would I benefit from using a high-mileage filter?

    Updated!

No benefit with a high mileage filter unless you're using high-mileage type oils. And even then - its debatable whether or not you should go further than the recommended oil changes.

What type of oil do you use (so I can add it to the list?).
    THanks

I was wondering how come so many of the same trucks on the first page (05+ 4 cyl) are using 5w30? Is it due to temperature or something? I know the manual says 5w20 or 0w20 and it states it on the oil fill cap...

I guess I'll post for my dad's truck as well lol
