Nothing much to update here. Weekends in the winter are spent running errands, looking at houses with the wife, going to the gym with the wife and anything we do outside of those things are all done indoors. Been selling some things here and there and donating a bunch of stuff we don't need or use anymore to help the eventual move.

Had Home Depot out a few weeks back to order some new windows for the back of the house. It's insane how much windows cost..damn near fainted. Also had a buddy's mom who's a realtor come out and look over the house. Updated some outlets to GFCI and changed out some wall registers that were painted over and stuck almost shut.

Off work tomorrow due to EXTREME cold. With the wind chill they are predicting tomorrow, it's going to feel like -50 degrees. Time to put the shorts away!

In the last 48 hours, we've had a good 6" of snow. Came home last night and shoveled for a good 2 hours. Helped a neighbor learn that his 400+hp Challenger isn't built for snow. Spinnin ain't winnin. Wife came home after me and another neighbor got him in his garage. Wife had no issues being 2WD also just not a thicc bitch like the Challenger. She has a good teacher though  (me). Gave her the jump pack to take to work today also. Hopefully she doesn't need it, but tomorrow she might.

Let the truck run for 20-30 minutes last night while shoveling. Gotta make sure to start and let the truck run tonight, and tomorrow for a few times throughout the day.

Long winded post deserves something. So here's a pic of my TITS (SFW  )

    BD6C6291-83A8-407D-BEB9-4B4B5EDDACE8.jpg

Hope all my Midwest and northeast friends stay safe and warm over the next few days.

Realistically? Probably nothing. Probably hurts it for all I know. For my sanity? A lot.

Last winter, it was how I discovered my battery was only pulling 8 volts instead of 12. Replaced it the same day I discovered that.

I want to make sure it can start and run in this extreme cold. -20 something with wind chill and tomorrow is -50.

A reminder that I take public transportation during the week and don't drive.

Have you looked into battery blankets at all? I don't know if you're able to run an extension cord to your truck, but they make little heated blankets a battery sits on so the cold doesn't affect it nearly as much. I also hear a block heater is a worthy investment because it's cheap and easy to install. That's freaking cold there!

Extension cord, not really possible. The house doesn't have an outdoor outlet where I park out front. I also don't trust people. This bitch also doesn't fit in the garage.

I will DEFINITELY look into one when move and have a garage/driveway.

We ran block heaters on everything when dad was alive and we had the farm....Nothing quite like walking into 0 degree temps and having instant heat. A lot less strain on the battery starting a warm motor too...

I've started casually househunting for a place, and making a list of "must haves". Oddly, they all pertain to the garage/truck somehow so far...

    -220 service in garage
    -Can fit the truck in
    -Dog size yard
    -RV Pad in back?

If you have any blankets you recommend, please share! TIA!

The wife and I put a list together for the realtor of what we are looking for. My only contribution was driveway/garage/manly stuff related; most of which are on your list.

Nice list! Hard time finding a garage I fit in let alone 220 service. Luckily, we know MANY, MANY electrician friends and family members. Adding that won't be an issue.

But, the stuff in the house is secondary for me. I'll be outside in the driveway or in the garage a majority of the time I'm home.

I sent the wife a house that was on the same lake as our lake house with like a 12-18 car garage, one 10' door, one 14' door, 220, 2 beds 1 bath on like 3/4 acre I believe. It was under 300k too. Sold quick but would have been amazing.

Yeah, 220vac is the easiest to remedy, but dimensions are dimensions as to whether the beast fits or not.

I may end up buying my friends place that was owned previously by a dude that races trophy trucks. The SECOND garage has its own 220 amp service to the street with a plug in all 4 corners, big heater in the corner, plumbed for air lines with studs to mount the air compressor cemented in to the floor. And my truck fits in it perfectly. House has its own garage too, but not sure it would fit a truck with a prinsu/plano and rack/rtt in it though.

Another relay bites the dust! :annoyed:

Back tracking here; Wednesday and Thursday were -25 with -40 to -60 degree wind chills. Because of the temps and struggling to start and needing the jump pack Wednesday evening, I pulled the battery. Kept it warm inside for two days. Put the battery back in on Friday after work and the truck fired up just fine. Yesterday, I went to use the horn and it wouldn't work. A quick diag in a parking lot yielded a busted female connector.

This morning, I found the wire and put a new female connector on it. However, when I pulled the broken female connector, the pin from the relay came with it. I had a spare one and quickly swapped it out; good as new.

I'm thinking I am just going to order a 5 pack of relays and keep a couple in the truck and a couple in the tool box.

    Ehdis Car Relay 4 Pin 12v 40amp Spst Model No.: JD2912-1H-12VDC 40A 14VDC, Auto Switches & Starters, 5 Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01J53IJPA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_2a3vCb30ATFZZ

Also, go Rams. Fcuk Tom Brady. Even though I know how the NFL works and the Pats will win anyways.

    Happy Superbowl Sunday everyone!!

Shout-out to @EatSleepTacos for the kick in the d!ck on a deal too hard to pass up.

As most of you know, I have been slowly stocking up parts to refresh and rebuild the front end. The major piece being new extended travel ADS coilovers; but, with trying to sell the house, we needed that money towards modding the house to sell and sell quick.

Got some already welded, OEM spindles with TC gussets with the sway bar bracket for under $300 shipped. I have to get them powder coated (WON'T be using the place that did my Pelfreybilt rear bumper; pretty sure they deleted their Facebook page or blocked me) but there is $150 core charge AND I have 3-4 months to fulfill the core exchange. Thank God for PayPal credit. I can pay off a bit at a time and upgrade parts as I go instead of all at once. Doing it this way will mean, I can still drive my truck and not have it out of commission for almost a whole day or longer getting the spindles that are on the truck now welded and painted. Save time and thus, money headaches.

    847C2653-59CD-4AB6-8BB6-5D78BEC68C7E.jpg

I figured this was the cheaper option to purchasing another daily while the truck is out of commission.

Thinking I'm going to utilize the powdercoater that the local 4x4 shop uses and trusts. Hopefully they don't (1) fuck me on pricing and (2) fuck me on the quote for how long it will take. Those of you that remember the rear bumper extravaganza know what I'm talking about

Being that I will still "have to" run the swaybar, (again, wife drives it sometimes; don't go ballistic on me, I know) can anyone recommend some quality sway bar end links to replace the OEM ones with? I will likely have to cut/BFH/torch the ones on the truck off.

    TIA!!
