Yeah that was a theory which it have not tried yet. Scratch that. Vaccum would be a good idea as well. I guess I’ve been spoiled with my ultrasonic knife, cuts through like hot butter and no chips.

If anyone is afraid to do this mod, I can offer the service just pay the shipping round trip and send me your lights.
    $110 and $240 respectively:D

With the stage 2 kit can I use your harness and use Triton red bulbs for the top 2 bulbs? If so do I need to use a step drill on them too.

I made my own harness for a similar mod:

Diode Dynamics tail as turn (DIY Kit)
    Bought 4x Plug n Play 7443 resistors (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071JNHMP3)
Bought 4X JDM AStar Red Led Bulbs.

Instead of having to splice/tap into the OEM factory wiring, by using the plug n play load resistors I was able to splice and tap into that wiring instead.

Currently, my tail lights top and bottom would serve as running lights (50%), brake lights, and turn signals. However, the DIY module from Diode Dynamics has this minor thing which I don't like.
When Brake and turn signal is triggered at the same time, the rear tail light turn signal is off sync. Diode Dynamics response is that it is done so for safety reasons, however, I believe its some sort of issue with the chipset or whatever it might be.

The benefit I guess for this version since the turn signal has been relocated to reverse lights this issue is alleviated...

I also trust MESO's work far more than my own for things like this. I'd somehow short the whole damn truck out :bananadead:

The Triton will fit the upper two sockets without modifications. It is only the lower socket that is a smaller size, requiring the drilling and adapter. The Triton wiring adapters will allow you to “make it work”. But, a cleaner wire-up could be done... much like he has for the switchback, integrating the Triton harness.

I'm using the Diode Dynamics DIY module, too, and I'm not having this problem. My LED brake/turn bulbs (I used 4x Endpage 7443 on Amazon) flash at exactly the same time as my front 7443 LEDs (also Endpage) and my side mirror turn signals (stock).

What do you mean off sync? Also, did the plug and play kit, you bought from Amazon, fit into the socket hole of the tail light?

Off sync as in the fronts blink and the rears blink after its turned off.

This only happens when the brake is depressed at the same time.

It does not do this when no brakes are depressed, that’s why after it’s installed and you test the flashers it blinks at the same time and in sync.

So you're saying it blinks one extra time (after you cancel the turn signal) if the brakes are applied? I'll have to test this tomorrow.

No, like this is how the blinkers would be:

    Front Headlight - Blinks
    Side Mirrors - Blinks
Rear Tail Lights - Not Blinking

    Front Headlight - Not Blinking
    Side Mirrors - Not Blinking
    Rear Tail Lights - Blinks

How many resistors do you have total? If you bought 1 set of the plug and play for each side(drivers and passenger)that would mean you have 4 resistors, a total of 8.

It’s not about the QTY or load of resistors. It’s totally out of sync due to the way the tail as turn module works. For all other dedicated turn signals(headlight, mirrors, etc) they flash ON when turn is activated. With the brake lights already on, it has to turn them OFF in order to flash pattern. So although they are technically using the “brake light” as turn signal, it’s going to be 180° sequenced from all the others. Minor annoyance for OCD people.

This kit will not have Tail as turn module.
It will keep a dedicated BRAKE light, and add a whole new color for the turn signal. :)
