    What he said ^^

Pop the 2 silver clips on the intake slightly pull up and remove the oem filter and replace with your new one.

I thought it was a mod of some sort. Apologies for the stupid question.

Trying to get some better gas mileage and now it says the high flow is not available for 2019 Tacoma.

Serious question- do high flow filters actually yield better mpg? Is it worth the trade off of allowing more dirt into your motor?

the best way to get better gas mileage is by lowering your speed on the highway and driving smoother.

I changed the OEM paper filter to an aFe high flow "K&N style" filter about a year/10K miles ago. It didn't make any difference in my fuel economy. I did it to allow higher volume of air flow into the engine. Personal preference. I had used aFe high flow filters on a previous vehicle for ~15 years and liked the product. Also like the convenience of being able to hose it out anytime you need to, then re-oil and reinstall, rather than have to go find a paper filter, and of course the cost everytime to you buy a new filter. The aFe isn't cheap, but I hope to keep my Tacoma for a long time.

Everyone has their opinion on air filters. My opinion is OEM all the way.

Do not use high performance air filters. People will debate the effects all day long but at the end of the day is the risk really worth the reward??

    Motorcycle cylinders but still...
