Pretty sure he just pieced it together, but I just noticed that the pic of it installed looks to be a prototype and not actually a Drifter. Reason is because I'm not sure if the crossbar will clear the roof apex. *EDIT* Looks like @Eazy.E got it on his Drifter no prob - although it still won't help if you want something to clear the fan. You'll need something taller.

In any case, if you're interested in building what Phil did, you can order everything from 8020.net

More pics. The plate is 3/16” thick. The double stud fittings raise it another 3/16”. Or you could use a spacer with single stud fittings, which are more than adequate.

The bolts for the caps are self tapping.

The holes in the plate just need to be enlarged from 1/4” to 3/8”. The spacing is 3”, so it lines up with the L-track mounting points.

It is a great set up. Has them on the Drifter and my flatbed camper.

Slots on the top and bottom, or you can purchase bars with slots on all sides.

I’m currently using the Frontrunner bars instead and we offer those for sale. Many of the Frontrunner accessories (bike, ski/ snowboard, boat, surf) and attachments work with that setup, so it made more sense. The towers are available in many heights as well. The Frontrunner bars have always had slots on the top and bottom for undermount options as well.

The L tracks are very versatile. Customers can add whatever they want to them and don’t need to purchase custom mounts from Vagabond.

Put the finishing touches on my build out tonight. Very happy with how it all turned out.
Tops are hinged on the side, back and above fridge for storage and access. Cub packs fit behind fridge in opening

Thanks @NVLOCAL for all the help!

    Nicely done.
Mind sharing info on the hinges for the tops? I’ve been in a snag with those bc my tops jut over the backside too.

They're not the easiest or cheapest, but Euro hinges would seem to check your other boxes.
Those are some of the main reasons I used them, along with being able to butt the lid up against an adjacent surface in the closed position and still maintain full range of motion. And the fine tuning once installed is a nice bonus.

Maybe consider these guys? Or something similar?
The first revision of my drawer build I had used piano hinges and had to customize em a bit to get them to mount to the 8020's top face and lid and have the butt of the hinges overhang but that didn't work great. These you could mount on the inner side face of the 8020 and then to the cabinet lids? That way you could have flush/flat lids still.
    Just my two cents!

Tested out both style hinges on multiple campers and a drawer system on our old 4Runner. Ended up using piano hinges on the horizontal and Euro for vertical.

Either would work for horizontal though. I’d just add a block or something to the underside to reduce lateral forces on the hinges. Might be considered overkill, but that what we’re about...
