You must be new to ordering fabricated parts. Most places take a full deposit, some will take a portion but it’s exceedingly rare.

    UPDATE:
-Kenny has on the order that they are cut and in-production, so he will be calling back to find out if they are actually finished or when they will be for me. As of now they may be:
--1: In Pieces waiting to be welded
--2: Welded and awaiting Shipping (lets hope for this one)

I feel that at this point, if they are completed, I have waited so damn long I just am going to see this through. But not something I will be dealing with again. I did ask why the production took so long, and it has to do with (as previously mentioned) production runs. Mine being a long bed, as they are not as common, they were waiting until closer to deadline to accumulate orders. Then their bender broke, the replacement jig was incorrect, and back ordered, got their piece in and had to complete the run of orders they were on (the ones I mentioned before that I was behind). And now they are on mine. Once again, I want to tell the whole story, not bash a company, but this post may never have happened had they communicated with me what was really going on. Communication is really important for businesses... and this niche market, with it's close community, and reputation for getting..well... screwed (pilfry/alpro), it's even more important.

Unfair to compare to the other two vendors because at least CBI answers the phone.

Keep with the updates. Glad he got on and looked your order up, but ‘in-production’ could mean we have your order annotated. Hoping for the best and a quick resolution.

sh!t no... I wish. And in comparing, I am talking about the weariness of offroad customers after the fall-through with those two companies... I think we all hesitate just a bit when placing big $$$ orders

I just cancelled my order with CBI (via Truck Brigade) and called up Mobtown (Joe) and ordered their sliders. This has nothing to do with whether I thought I was going to actually get the product from CBI, their service to me, or the quality of their product. CBI has always treated me well, and I agree...talk to them on the phone. Also I might add the Truck Brigade is awesome...really appreciate their service. They also sell RCI sliders, and FREE SHIPPING...the usual deal killer for non-local heavy stuff like sliders and bumpers. But CBI...I really do hope they can find a way to have better customers service and they have resolved their fabrication equipment issues, because they do make great stuff.

This was really about me realizing that I really was far enough out that CBI had not started making my sliders, and that I actually liked the attachment method of the Mobtown sliders. Also Joe was really helpful/responsive...though as I know they are a small shop I'm not going to be calling ever day to check status. I talked to him and he tries to "under promise/over deliver" which is the way I would run a business if I did.

Anyway, I'm not bashing CBI, and I do hope anyone that has orders with them gets their stuff soon. Someday I would like to buy one of their T3 aluminum bumpers and the dual swinging back bumpers.

Try @SOS CONCEPTS. I owe him one.

Good guy. Offered to cut me a deal. I went another direction and wish I'd stuck with Eddy.

Who do you recommend for a rear bumper with swing out tire carrier?

That sucks! FWIW, working with @Mobtown Offroad was a dream in comparison. Great communication throughout the process, bumper delivered on time, customized, and in perfect condition. Fit and finish were great. When it's time for sliders or other armor, they are first on my list. Hoping they finish design for slimline front bumper soon.

This is mobtown. Swingout has been updated a little bit and now there’s a molle panel between the spare tire and that solid plate. Fuel can carriers are bolt on so they can be added later if wanted. Accepts both Jerry cans and rotopax.

Looks super clean... damn, if only I could go back. Fortunately the sliders are just mod#1... plenty of time to upgrade the beast through other companies!

I absolutely love the look of this bumper. I just haven't been able to get a hold of them at all.

That played a huge role in why I didn’t get their rear bumper (back before I was a mobtown ambassador). Their rear bumper is a piece of art, but the only way to order is over phone and only way to get his number is via the TW black market. So I opted to support mobtown instead since they’re local and are on the forum always. I knew any potential issues would be easy to resolve.

So Battle Born messaged me during the Black Friday stuff out of the blue. I did think it was suspicious considering he had no ties to it on his account. I did order an icon kit and I'll never order anything else from them again. The customer service was meh and I did feel at times my stuff wasn't coming. I'll never try to save $50 again. I'm curious why you make the statement though.

I just got my CBI T3 rear bumper last week and love it. When I ordered, the wait was 10 weeks, with an estimated ship date of 26 December. I checked in with CBI in early December and they were very friendly and responsive, but indicated there would be a 2-6 week delay. No worries. I had already gotten burned by the Pelfrey meltdown (but thankfully got my money back!), so I was fine with the delay. The T3 actually came in earlier than I expected. Got it all mounted up and it looks awesome.

Easy to bag on these relatively small companies, but the reality is that demand is waaaaayyy bigger than supply. Good things come to those who wait...
