Those cameras are nice. A buddy of mine recently bought a Titan Pro4X with all the options that has the birds eye view and, especially in something larger, it comes in really handy especially when parking in tight spots or off-road

Atlis is actually an amazing company that nobody has really heard of. We should all keep an eye on them.

I was merely agreeing with you, hence my reference to "as noted above" in the two that I quoted, of which you were the first. The latter being the one that indicated absolutely no roof ridges.

Its not a redesign, the cab is the same, its a refresh, you can see the same weatherstripping and overall roof line. I'm guessing, new head and tail lights, new front including lower bumper area they purposely cut off, Entune 3.0 and a few additional features like birdseye, power seats, etc.
Nothing too drastic, just enough to stay relevant and competative till the 2022 update.

I have a 19 and wont be pissed, people got too used to the late 2nd gen years / recession years, when there was no competition and thus no need for Toyota to update the Tacoma, times have changed and so will the Tacoma. I'm sure will see plenty of people trading perfectly good 19s for 20s though...

For sure! Just seeing that pic of the external view made me wonder if they
went w/ cams for the side view and then there they were in the dash, pretty
    wild concept.

Indeed. Some don't really grasp how the industry works. I'm of the opinion as well this is a refresh with basically changes you indicated above. Would I like other things, sure, but expecting less and receiving more is always better than expecting more and receiving less. Haha! I'm of the opinion the 2022 Auto Shows for MY2023 is going to be really interesting for the mid-size truck segment as most manufacturer's (Toyota, GM, Ford) will be debuting next-generation mid-size trucks if all the "rumors" pan out. About time this segment is getting some attention.

I have a feeling we may actually get more here than a typical Toyota refresh (though obviously it is just that). There were so many little basic things these trucks were missing for the price, there is a ton they can add in just a refresh.

I agree with it missing some basic items/ features etc. for the price, however, those additions/ changes will more than likely increase the price further. It is all relative, options are viewed differently and "worth" more to certain buyers than others. When shopping, for example, I put a higher "personal value" on availability of a moonroof and power sliding rear window as those features were either missing or lacking when comparing the competition.

I mostly want to make sure the MT is sticking around. If it's going away, I'll grab a 19. If it's sticking around, I have more time to save. The rest of the "features" are just, whatever. An excuse to make the truck more expensive.

...^^^... Very nice truck with super specs too.

I was wondering if it is a unibody or a body on frame ?

Either way, I would buy it if they had good service and charging stations. A 500 mile range with a 15 minute charge time is super.

I know it wont happen for 2020, but I'm excited about the prospects of a future hybrid Tacoma:

    - One or two electric motors replace front mechanical 4WD.
    - Front wheels turn completely independently of each other based on traction available (only wheels with traction turn) in crawl or "Lo" mode (TRD OR and Pro thus have all four wheels locked from factory)
    - Front wheels can turn independently of each other when losing traction on low grip surfaces in "Hi" mode, functioning similarly to AWD
    - Assist in acceleration at highway speeds
    - Assist in acceleration with moderate/heavy loads at city speeds
    - Completely motivate the truck when carrying light/no loads at city speeds
    - Electric motors can operate in crawl mode with absence of gas engine should engine develop issue or run out of gas while off road (low priority)
    - Potentially offer kit to solar-charge batteries (no matter how slow)
    - Battery serves as a powerful generator for work and play equipment

If the Taco can do 70% of those it'd be a win. Essentially getting a better, more functional 4wd system with a huge boost in fuel economy and usability in an urban environment would be awesome.
