    Back story:

I recently sold my pair of 2000 Sea Doo Millennium edition PWCs. I had bought them used with very VERY low hours on them, and enjoyed them tremendously. They only had about 150 hours on each, but it was getting harder and harder to have them tuned up/winterized. Working on PWCs is outside of my knowledge base, so I was having local shops work on them, and it was becoming cost prohibitive.

But the wife wants a new one. Just one this time, because we only use it to pull the kids around on a tube, and the lake we are on is fairly small, with light to medium traffic. It makes the weekends up at the camp less "boring" for the kids, and I find them to be really good therapy.

    Questions

How is the maintenance on the new Sea Doos? Are they a tight cluster-fuck under the seats like the old ones?

I'm pretty interested in getting a Sea Doo Spark 3-up or something comparable. The price is right, it has what I need for the lake we are on. Anyone have one?

I've never bought a new PWC before, is there negotiation room, or is it MSRP all day long?

I really enjoy my 3 up. I have been able to tow a wakeboard, fish, and have a lot of fun on it. I have worked on it and it is not to difficult. That said I need to do an oil change and bought the kit to do that. So far I have replaced the intake grate , upgraded the prop and wear ring. I have about 30 hours on it.20170527_121748.jpg

This is what I was looking for. That said, did you buy brand new? Were you able to negotiate on the price? Thanks!@

Yes new. Negotiations were tough had to settle for them throwing in a cover. Also check for spring promotion from SeaDoo. I got a better deal through them
You really have to keep an eye on your sales guy as mine tried to give me some other rate/deal that was not as good.

If they are anything like boats they are cheaper to buy in the winter.

I bought the most stripped out base 2up because I planned on modding the hell out of it, and I payed less than MSRP for my otd price.

I emailed or called about 8 dealers within a few hours drive looking for best otd pricing and most quoted stupid total that were like msrp plus taxes plus doc fees etc. I found a place that was less than msrp for all which is big since there is not a ton of profit wrapped up in Spark pricing.

If you have a vacuum fluid extractor and an air compressor you will not need to visit the dealer for winterizations. Service is tricky since the Spark has access doors, or easy if you remove the top deck.

Nice. The New England boat show is going on the next few weeks, so me and a buddy are going window shopping at a local dealer, then to the boat show. I have a really good budget ($9k) but don't want to use it lol

I bought a Yamaha EX Sport. Got an OK deal. I'm good with the manual reverse. Got a left over 2018, came with a 3 year warranty instead of 1 year. Trailer, etc. Went with a buddy, he got a leftover EX Deluxe because RiDE reverse. He did ok as well.

Pick up in a few weeks when trailer comes in....
