Good. That's fantastic news. The best news I've heard all day. Maybe Toyota will loose a metric shit ton of Tacoma sales and I can find the one I want at a great price. As opposed to unobtanium at sky high prices.

I remember driving my 2000 T4R in the late 2000s looking at all the ratty s10 blazers on the road thinking how glad I was I got the 4Runner. Today it's rare to see an S10 or S10 blazer on the road, but I still see plenty of 2000 Tacomas and 4Runners.
Take that motor trend! Ka pow!

This is what happens when car people don't have a f'ing clue what they are looking at or talking about. They can't even figure out WHY the Taco is the best selling midsize. And, how a Ridgeline makes a comparo with a Taco is beyond my understanding. Its like saying here's a Model S P100D and a Chevy Bolt - both electric, lets compare!

Look at it this way. They set reasonable expectations for the 'new' Ranger. For sales, it'll slot in behind the Taco somewhere.

"Unfortunately, even the shortest of us had trouble fitting in the Tacoma's cramped cabin. Finding a comfortable driving position in the rock-hard seats is made difficult by a steering wheel that barely telescopes and a seat that doesn't raise or lower—the latter is probably for the best because even 5-foot-9 Scott reported his hair was brushing the Tacoma's headliner."

I'm taller than this person and I have NEVER touched the headliner :transformer: o_O. Good thing I didn't listen to these "authors " or I'd be in a Ridge line :violent:

EDIT: Maybe Scott has a 6" Flattop from the 80's

It's the sunroof issue. I have a ton of room without it, being 6ft with only a 31in inseam.

I am 6' 2" and have at least 2 inches of clearance above my head. No Sunroof though. I do not find the headrest comfortable though. I had a shitty ford fiesta that even had a better (tilt adjustable too) headrest. If anyone knows a third party that will work, let me know.

So, they were ranked in the order of which mfg gave them the most money to be biased? Got it.

I'm 6'0" and have no problem with headroom but agree with the critique on the telescoping steering wheel. My only real complaint on the interior. Maybe I just have short arms and long legs.

MotorTrend bows to the highest bidder, maybe before some of you but in 1983 they picked the Renault Alliance as the car of the year and other than the Yugo it ended up being the biggest POS made. GM is trying hard to rebuild their image and paying many $$ to get it done, the secret they do not know is to build a great quality vehicle and back it.

When I was downsizing from and F-150 I drove a 2016 GMC Canyon off road (16k miles), 2018 Honda Ridgeline (7k miles) and the 2014 Tacoma (36k miles) that I ended up purchasing at the dealership that I work for. BTW (Ford & Chrysler franchised dealership)

    My opinion was:
Tacoma a little harsh on the ride but solid and well built just like my 1999 T4R
Ridgeline loaded to the gills, ride & drive just like a car/minivan..would have needed to turn in my mancard for this one.
Canyon plastic to the hilt rattles, squeaks and road noise...perhaps worse than the 1988 Ranger that I had years ago.

Price was Tacoma as the base line, $2k more for the GMC and $10k more for the RidgeLine

I talked to all of the prior owner that traded them to see what they had bought and why. All were F-150's, size and comfort is the reason that I heard from all of them.

I was downsizing and did not want to wait for the FIAT Gladiator at all or wait to be a beta tester on the new Ranger, that being said may trade the Taco in a couple of years for one provided it pans out.

The only reason that I came from the F-150's was the overall size, did not need that much room and parking was a PITA. But I do miss the ass kicking 3.5 EcoBoost, 21 average mpg trip to Estes and back and power to spare.

Friend of mine is a hugh Yota fan and has a tuned Tundra pulled him off the line and he could not get that back but did not lose ground either.
