hope the pup is doing alright. a too say get a different vet to take a look. the rawhide excuse doesnt seem legit enough. i feed my dogs raw hides all the time(when im home and watching them). not once have any of them had seizures.

Dogs don't sweat... they pant. And like it was before, cooling off their chest helps them cool off also.
As far as the medical part goes, a damp/wet cool towel on the back of their neck will also help. Cooling off the neck will follow by cooling the spinal cord, which connects to all the nerves and brain.
For the dehydration part, pedialyte (for kids) will be fine for dogs, but not sure if they will drink it. Gatorade will work fine, just as it works for kids also.
When someone has a seizure, they will most likely lose continence, and that is normal. People who have had lots of seizures in the past can some time sense the aura of a seizure. This is basically right before a seizure, but 98% of the time, humans can't sense this. A friend of mine is epileptic, and is able to sense them sometime, and in the middle of his office, he will stand up, and lay down in the middle of the floor, followed by an immediate seizure. Dogs on the other hand, CAN sense the aura. There are actually dogs (like seeing eye dogs) who are trained to bark like crazy when they sense a seizure coming. Just like MountainEarth said about his dog who rushes to him when he is about to seize.

I am not a vet, I only trained dogs at a younger age, and the medical information is for humans, but we are animals and have lots of similarities.

Hope everything works out with the pup
