Recommend lamps to brighten up the cab

2018 3rd Gen Tacoma.

I've noticed that the original cab lighting (map lights and dome lights) are really dim. Can anyone recommend replacement bulbs (led, incandescent, halogen, etc.) that are brighter? Even a lot brighter?

I just bought new led replacements from auto parts store for both. Took old ones out put new in. Just remember it matters how leds are put in. If don’t work, turn them and try again. Made a huge difference. Did this on my 2013 TRD off road dcsb also. There are people who sell them on this site. May replace them with those later. My truck is 2018 TRD off road dcsb.

 

Mesocustoms he's a forum member. I installed the dome and maps and they're both all I could want. True reading quality light level.

 

I've seen so many different kinds. It seems some only light at the end and others light up on all sides. Thanks for the info.

deAutoLED (one of the vendors on Tacoma World). The LED's they supplied for the interior of my truck are super bright. What an improvement over the original lamps.

 

Amazon says those dome lights don't fit my 2018 Tacoma. Are they wrong? I've seen them wrong on these things before.

I'm sure I'll order both if they're the correct lamps.

I wouldn't pay a lot for interior lights myself. I bought these for all my vehicles and for some family members. Everyone loves them and we've ran them a while!

Shoot, sorry those are ones I had put in my Chevy. Will see if I can find ones that fit the 3Gen Taco. The best way to make sure is read the review and do a search for Tacoma; I've done that to find out things that Amazon says wont work actually will.

Also, as others have posted above, you can get kits from vendors here that will have LED replacements for all the interior bulbs.

 

I will. Thanks. If you come across similar lamps for the Tacoma, please send the link. I checked on similar items from the link you sent and nothing is as packed with LEDs as the ones for your Chevy. I haven't had time to look at lumens yet. Obviously that's what matters.

 

I ordered the map lights you suggested and some other dome lights. The map lights are 6000K white light not sure of the lumens and the dome lights are 6500K white light 400 lumens.

I missed them? Wtf! I was on the email list and never got an email!

 

Personally, I don't like to have it bright in the cab. It ruins your ability to see in the dark after you get out of the truck. I generally just have the dome light in the off position at that. If I need strong light, I have a flashlight.

 

In other words, you are of absolutely no help to the OP, at all, whatsoever.
