After changing it the first time and having it spray everywhere I put a Fumoto valve on it. Definitely worth it.

If I'm not mistaken they are keeping the 2ar-fe as the 4 cylinder in the 2018 Camry. Interesting that they are changing the recommended weight on it. I wonder if they will come out and say all the older ones should run 0-16 now too.

Per checking dipstick, like the other thread states, it splashes around and gives an odd level. I take the dipstick out, let it sit for like 2 min and then check. I take out the last couple threads by hand for the drain plug so I know when she's about to blow.

Seems like it's a thing these days. Before I got my Tacoma, I looked at a Colorado with the 2.8L Duramax. It uses 5w30. Thought that was interesting. Same day, went to Toyota and the salesman was talking about 0w16 in the Camry. That's just crazy.

What happened? Costs money to put the marks. Costs less money to put holes while you are already stamping it anyways.

It's probably not for engine longevity and more to help them with fleet mpg ratings.

Just take a punch and knock a new dent where 6.2 qts should be.
I just put 5.5 qts in mine. And when I check the dipstick on most things I'm more looking for the fact that the engine has oil in it not that it's a 1/2 qt low. If I have something that is a 1/2 qt low I dont even bother adding oil until I know it's a full qt low. (On an engine that hold 4 of more qts)

I'm the same way. If the level or what I think is the level on the dipstick is well above the lower dot on the dipstick I'm good to go!

If you think 0W20 is thin, 0W16 looks like water
