Oh the patches I'd make... I can't imagine what I would have done if I had my hands on one of these back in highschool when I made patch jackets; here's some cringe

    IMG_2310.jpg

Here's what I'm stitching up at the moment, this one is already coming along much faster than the last; thanks half stitches!

Mine isn't nearly as impressive as yours, but ya gotta start somewhere! I made this one a few days ago for fun to display my medals.

Made a casting of a 12 x 1.5 metric bolt. Coated the threads with wax8859C1DD-3B76-4926-9113-68019976B277_zps_7f200c9239c6c6f0cd593e3e2a5fc82da8b833b9.jpg
Then smeared 2-ton epoxy thinned with 91% denatured alchohol as I slid the brass up to cover the threads. Tomorrow I'll see if I can twist it off. Might need a hole to let air in.

Could you could get a threaded insert and epoxy that into the shifter knob?

A little cross stitch update; I also got to put a hole in the ceiling today. Trying to add a little class. Last few places we've lived we've had some... unsavory art of mine on the walls haha. That's all exclusive to our game room now.

Decanted the diy threaded insert, threaded it onto the stick and epoxied the shift knob in place. Again I'll wait a day or two before trying to spin it off but here's the insert. Thinning the opoxy with rubbing alchohol works
great for degassing it and makes for smoother, cleaner threads.

Yup. One cool thing about the work-from-home days is that I can be cutting out pieces while in a meeting listening to developers complain about code security. This keeps me sane.

that's one of the best things about taking college courses from home. That's the only reason I really cross stitch at all.

Made a pot/pan holder today out of a curtain rod. All the ones on Amazon were extremely expensive and ugly so I figured I'd make one that I could tuck away in this little nook of my kitchen.

I like where you're going with this project. I was trying to develop something like this that could use the dash switch blanks as attachment points.
