disconnect the battery for 30 min and press horn/brake pedal. This will reset ECU and get you back. But you may think about driving in S mode (prevents learning). MPG may suffer a bit.

It doesn’t, gotta do the jump the obd port with a paper clip and play with the shifter. A complex procedure that a simple piece of metal and a tube would solve. What we called in the Navy “a college degree fking up what a high school diploma could fix.”

Is there a way to see if this was done for my truck before I purchased it? I bought from a dealership right before Christmas and I want to make sure this was done already. I put in my vin on the Toyota site for recalls but it said it came up clean.

It’s not a recall. Use an OBD II scanner and check the ECU calibration ID. You can see what it should be by looking at the T-SBs here https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/list-of-t-sbs-etc.562671/

You may want to look at this, see if it applies in your situation.

Does it feel like you are being rear ended almost? The harsh 2-1 downshift is pretty common. It’s my dealers #1 overall complaint for any Toyota model. No fix for it. Some do it some don’t. Sometimes it won’t clunk and sometimes it does ha yours could be relearning still since you just had the flash though.

Famous clank is the byproduct if Toyota's shift tables. OV explained it a while ago.
BTW, issue is tamed in OV 1.05.

Mighty Taco288, I found a PDF of TSB 0077-16, haven't found 0062-18 yet, but according to that SB after the install the tech is supposed to put the Authorized Modification plate under the hood next to the engine ID plate. and post the new cal ID on the placard. see attached pic. Im going to see about getting this done on my 19 Off Road soon.

    You liking it?

Either a Ram Rebel or Laramie is high on my list for a possible next vehicle.
