Just an FYI. My local Northern Tools has changed the Lifetime Warranty Policy on hand tools, it now requires the original sales receipt to replace broken tools. I found this out today when I broke a socket and went to swap it out. I've bought their tools for decades, and don't have receipts for the 25 years worth of purchases. So, going forward I might hit my local Lowes for Kobalt or Craftsman hand tools unless Northern is the only one who has it. BTW- I'm in the Atlanta, GA area , actually at the Buford ,GA store. Not sure if company policy, or local store , but thought I'd share, might wanna ask your store before you toss the receipt.

I understand where they're coming from, in Greenville at the northern tool and as I was checking out I heard the door alarms going off.

Looked over and a guy had a tool in his had walking to his truck. Cashier laughed and said I hope he knows he needs a receipt to use the lifetime warranty on that wrench he just stole

Go with husky or kobalt. Craftsman has changed their hand tool policy over the years without telling people. I used to work for sears and saw it first hand. Craftsman used to be quality......not so much now. There is always Pittsburgh though harbor freight.......lifetime warranty and affordable

I second this. Sadly harbor freight is comparable to sears for hand tools. I have older craftsman and they are great but I'll buy HF over them now. I have most of what I need but if I need something that has to work I get S&K or snap on/williams. Tekton is also a decent alternative for budget.

Even the good tool truck tools it can be a pain to warrant tools .

Since all my dealers are long since retired I can understand a new dealer one has never spent any money with being reluctant to warrant tools.

I never bought many Craftsmen tools after I found out they are not warrantied for Industrial use had the girl friend take them back or my Mom

That's the Northern I shop at. I didn't know about the change. It's too bad. I like that store.
