And fixed the lose/rattling TRD skid again. The welded nuts were all goobered up and broke off a hole back. I replaced them with rivnuts. One of rivnuts was gummed up again.

I just bought the Tacoma yesterday, so today was mostly just going over the truck and seeing how it was taken care of for the past 68k miles. Checked all fluids, filters, brakes, changed the oil, new wipers, just easy stuff today.

Also started on a rough draft of a wireless phone charger (similar to what the 3rd gens have). Bought a flat puck at the store, found some scrap wood in the garage with the same thickness, cut out the outline of the puck and glued another piece below it. Tomorrow I'll run it through the table saw to straighten the edges, then do endless fitments until it fits nice in the front-most part of the center console. Finish it off with a wrap in grey fabric to match the interior, and it should be good to go!

return line from the ByPass oil filter...A 1 Qt filter ..98% eff @2 microns, vs 20+/- micron rating for a normal filter...system filters aprox 8% total flow of the system, good for aprox 60K miles....although not shown in this picture (old pic) there is a sample valve on the return side of the filter to monitor carry over and let me know when its time to change the filter......the small line on the supply side is the Oil Press gage line

I fed the filter from the Lo Oil Pressure switch fitting, (on the v6 top front of engine..a REAL PIA area to work in) via A Tee.....
you will need a Tee that has 2 BPT sides and 1 NPT

male bpt on bottom.....female bpt on top of tee...NPT on side

    things to know

    1. mine is on a 4.0v6
    2. Pipe thread on the engine is British Pipe thread...Not NPT used in the US
    3. You can find a fitting on line in several places
    4. My advice wud be to use wicking and pipe dope rated for oil, proper temperature etc on the fitting to prevent leaks. NOT Teflon tape
    5. most everything comes in the Amsoil kit
    6. there are other filters available, I use Amsoil so used thier kit....quality material

btw this will not effect ur oil pressure....mine is 30+ at idle

Do the dogs run the trails while you ride? That would be pretty cool!

That brown dog looks like a prime trail dog. My money is he is named Kona, Digger, Sprocket, or Norbs.

Hell yeah they do! Sometimes i think they like a ride more than i do. They just focus on keeping up while also trying to tree squirrels

Brown/Orange guy is Chase (cause he chases me down the trails) and black one is Maggie
