You realize that with ^^ this ^^ you’re dissing everyone who purchased a Tacoma after the 2015 MY?

A little thought before using the old broad brush would be appreciated.

I’ve had every gen and config, the 3rd gen is far from trash. Just people being people and ignorant.

You sound like me and I think a Hilux would sell because of that. I don't mind Toyota playing the new car game, it sells them by the train load. But my understanding is the Hilux is like going in a time warp back about a decade. Plain interior, DIN radio, 3-dial climate. It would get flatly panned by the auto media in the U.S. as being dull but that's *exactly* the point.

Got to drive a few while deployed and loved them. Could careless about power seats and all that tech stuff especially at the price and sacrifice of reliability and average joe ability to fix.

So while there are hardware upgrades to the headunit, can it be switched out to get the new tech or are there other upgrades needed that are not in the headunit, like center dash display

Thanks fot answers, but how do you know?

I just got a 2019, so selfishly I’m glad they didn’t change much. FYI I love my truck.

I've looked over the parts as well as spoken to some engineers responsible for it.

Couldn't say what's needed for a swap, just know that you can't upgrade current to run the 2020 software.

Even with the things they did change, I am much happier with my Inferno discontinued color. Now if they bring back Inferno I dont know how I would feel. Well, yes I do, because I don't think the price increase would be worth it.

-I want to lift my hover truck 3 inches, what do I need? I heard the spacers for the electro magnetic propulsion bases are ok?
=nah bro go with larger EMPBs (electro magnetic propulsion bases) because the spacers dont distribute the force equally, also if you're gonna carry heavy loads these wont give you as much bro lean
    > If you go with EMPB spacers the taco lean is gonna get worse
