Alright folks, now for a show me thread. I just got 2 sweet AF RTIC tan colored 43” rifle cases, with the intention of mounting them to the prinsu. Recovery gear, portable air compressor, shovel, axe, stove, mess kit, folding table, camp chair, what else???

Tow straps, snatch, winch remote, walkies, light, jumper cables, battery booster, small shovel, med kit, air gauge, etc. basically everything that would be taking up room in the cab

    Thats clean. I like it.
I want to say it was @EatSleepTacos who carries a spare CV shaft and misc spare parts in one of his, which was also a really nice setup. I could be wrong tho

Of course man. And here’s how I mounted mine.

How to mount a Plano on a prinsu

    Materials needed:

    1/4”x1” carriage bolts
    1/4”x1.5” washers
    1/4”-20 nylock nuts
    7/16” socket/wrench
    Drill w/ 5/16” drill bit
Something to mark where to drill
    T30 bit

    Optional:

    Silicone
    Hacksaw

Set Plano on prinsu and mark where you want to drill. Just gonna have to eyeball this part

    Drill your holes

Unbolt one side of crossbar using the T30 bit and set carriage bolts in rails

Loosely place Plano on bolts, and start the nuts but don’t tighten yet

Squeeze some silicone under the washer

Tighten down nuts, add silicone if needed, and trim excess off bolts.

My box isn't at capacity yet, and eventually I plan on having two above the cab. Currently:

Pelican 1650 (shorter but taller than the ones MESO is running)
    - Car tool kit. Though I plan on making one specific to my truck (basically getting rid of all the standard stuff and incorporating more metric stuff)
    - Bubba rope, and other tow straps, etc.
    - Shackles
    - Shackle Hitch Reciever (I've heard they have a tendency to walk off if you leave em in your hitch all the time)
    - Extra pair of mechanics gloves
    - Extra microfiber towel
    - Small battery jumper
    - Small air compressor (for filling tires). Works surprisingly well despite its size. I will upgrade to an under-hood one and a dual battery eventually though.
    - Various coordage, because... string is useful for stuff
    - Duct tape
    - Zip ties (heavy duty)

I plan on adding (also when I get my second case):
    - Chainsaw & accessories (itll be a small one)
    - Various fluids for the truck. Currently I only carry some spare motor oil, but I'll eventually do the research and find out what the problem ones can be and add some of that (power steering fluid, brake fluid, etc)
    - CV shaft
    - Grease
    - Silicone
    - Winch stuff once I get a winch - like extra line, tree strap, line arrestor, etc.
    - Maybe other repair stuff like a sewing kit, or tent repair kit, etc.

Medkit stays in the cab. If something goes wrong and we need to bust out the celox in a hurry, I don't want my potentially locked case being the reason someone bleeds out.

^ That. Or worse yet if you've rolled the rig

The 1650 is a beast of a box. I own one and use it for work, I can’t imagine driving with it up there, much less full of gear!

Yep. TQ's should be inside and in easy reach of all passengers.

I like this kit from MyMedic for that reason. Shown here in the 200, but there's one in the Taco as well.

I was able to source all mine from a local ace hardware store. Their hardware selection is great!

Actually it isn't too bad. Went on a 10 day road trip and noticed 1 mpg mileage loss (averaged 15mpg, and I usually get 16-17.) - but that's also with all the OTHER stuff I have up there, and the several hundred pounds of other gear I bring with me too. The real issue is that you gotta put it up there, THEN load the stuff into it. I can get it up by myself right now, but once I add more stuff it'll be pretty tough/risk paint damage.

My only real complaint is that the box isn't symmetrical, so if I mount a second one I might need to get creative to keep it in the same relative position as the current one.

I honestly would have figured it would be an assortment of LED flashlights and spare 3D printer material.

No pics of the inside yet, but it's all basically just piled in there.
Here are some pics of it on the truck:
