My seatbelts gets flipped over like that sometimes, but I just flip it the other way and it retracts just fine. Kind of annoying but not a big deal. Only a couple times in 10 years have I closed the door on the male buckle-latch thingy. What annoys me is how easily the belt will lock up with little movement. Just reaching for the cupholder will engage the ratchet lock, that is really stupid.

Yes the TSB was for seat belt tensioner mounting bolts coming loose. The tensioner mechanism is mounted inside the access doors and the bolts were known to loosen after repeated slamming of those doors. The TSB was just to check the bolts and tighten, or replace bolts if needed. I had my TSB done and didn't notice a difference but I still hear the knock/rattle sound coming from that area.

I was told Toyota was taking the same action throughout their lineup. What pissed me off is that I specifically told them not to shave the pedal (4"+ of clearance is good enough from keeping an idiot from letting their pedals get stuff on a mat) and they did it anyways because they didn't want to be liable. Add insult to injury when the tech has to run out of the garage with a screwdriver to get my seatbelt working. Oh, and I was only in to get new leafs in the rear.

Stay away from Culver City Toyota!

The truck is ruined. Throw it away.
Be thankful you don’t have to tie it in a knot to use it

    Who cares what you think?

You got so worked up over it you couldn't just skip the post? You should be more worried that you don't see your attitude is a problem.

I couldn't skip it as it is mind blowing. Not worked up at all, just astounded that this is considered a problem because you can't remove a seat belt without twisting it.

    LOL!

Happens every time . Go to close the door and the buckle is hanging by the rocker panel so you have to open door since it didn’t close anyway ,untwist the belt and help the belt back into slot were it finally retracts . It could be because I’m 6’ tall and have to pull the belt out so far to buckle myself in :annoyed::notsure:.

This happens to me from time to time as well if I just unbuckle with my left hand and carelessly fling the belt over my shoulder. If I use my right hand and ease it across my body it retracts properly every time. Unfortunately, it takes an additional 1.625 seconds to do it this way so it may be way too complicated and time consuming for some.
