I wonder if it will work with the 16 trim around the radio?

I’m more interested in the camera system. Seems pretty nifty when off-roading

Underneath would be nice. I already have a front camera for wheeling but underneath would be nice too. You can get the cameras super cheap though and use the anytime camera mods to make that happen.

Is that any better than an after market head unit currently available?

It's just entune with carplay, so not really. The suite of stuff seams cool, cams etc. But just swapping the headunit seems like a big waste of loot just for carplay. Go aftermarket, way more options and cheaper

I’m a little ignorant on this, so help me out. I’m constantly cleaning the rear camera, so how does the underside camera work? Would that need constant cleaning as well?

Nah, not really considering I think I read in another thread that it will require use of the USB outlet instead of wireless that is available aftermarket. That being said, there are advantages such as being able to use the stock mic as calvinx408 mentioned above (though I read the 2020 model has a new mic tuned for the new unit and will perform better than the current mics). Also a clean look in the dash.

I really want android auto but I just can't get into the look and feel of aftermarket units in the dash. That being said Toyota are apparently trying to get $4k for the current head unit w/nav so who knows how much these things will cost. I posted in another thread about Mazda's upgrade offer for older vehicles https://www.billgattonmazda.com/blo...rplay-android-auto-upgrade-for-select-models/ and am really hoping for good news from Toyota on this front.

No, just looks more flush. If you get a new 800 $ one from pioneer you get wireless android and Apple play. However you need a dash kit which looks bad but with the maestro kit it’s not better as you still get the data.
