I bought a 2015 double cab with an SR package (not SR5) double cab, alloy wheels, and 6 ft.bed from a company I do a website for. Like the look. Seems like a pretty rare combination. Has anybody seen anything similar?Tacoma1_7_18.jpg

don’t know if I’d call it rare, I don’t have production numbers to support that - but it’s a sharp looking truck! Congrats & welcome.

A good friend of mine drives an SR. I was immediately jealous of his headlights. I eventually bought a set. Even though it's only a step up from the base model, I like some of the extra touches on the SR model.

My 2015 is an SR with the 2.7.

Here’s it when I got it.

SR DCLB may actually be pretty rare. I think I've only seen a similar look in an access cab. (plus its the trim I ended up with)

Well, it looks like there are at least two of us out there. Neat thing about Tacos is how many different directions you can go when checking off items on the build sheet.

That SR has been upgraded, at least the bumpers, drive lights, headlights, wheels have. Those are not stock. Unless its an SR with an appearance package I’m unaware of.

They aren’t as common because... well who wants no cruise control or intermittent wipers or like anything like that? Haha

I do love the all blacked out interior they have though.

The SR package is the appearance monochrome trim package - bumpers, grill surround, door handles, and mirrors. Believe the alloy wheels and driving lights are part of the PreRunner package the vehicle came with. Never use cruise so don't miss it but not having intermittent wipers is an inconvenience that will be addressed - simple plug-in replacement. Don't have all the specifics because I got it used without the window sticker that spelled everything out. Only cosmetic changes by me were debadgging, blacking out chrome logo on grill, a little black paint on the pinch weld area below the doors, and the addition of running boards. Also added backup camera - another inexpensive plug-in upgrade.

A little bit more research reveals that the SR package includes the 16 inch black alloy wheels and the driving/fog lights.

Mine is an SR but it has a convience package as well so it has most of the extras that the other packages include. I do like the dark headlights they are a nice touch.

I have a 2015 SR 2.7 5sp with convenience package (sliding rear glass, cruise control etc.). I added the backup camera module and intermittent wiper stalk.

The rail yards around here use them.

Thanks to all who replied so far. If you don't have fog lights, they are a worthwhile addition - really light up the sides of the road. Not concerned about effect on vehicle value - it ain't going anywhere soon. As for rail yards, when I first saw it, it reminded me of the no chrome, no nonsense farm trucks I grew up with as a kid while my son-in-law, in a feeble attempt to insult me, asked if there was a business name painted on the doors when I bought it - as he sat in our living room drinking free beer and watching a NASCAR race.

My Taco is a litttle different. It has cruise control, but unpainted front bumper and fender flares.
Here’s a spec sheet of mine

I went to Toyota.com and put in my vin and they gave me this for free.

You have a Base model. They came with unpainted black plastic front bumper cover, flares, and argent silver grill trim. The SR package that was introduced in 2014 included all the items that Motormouse listed. All the body color appearance pieces were taken from the TRD Sport parts bin. The black aluminum wheels are the Toyota 6-spoke Baja wheel that was available over the counter and some dealers installed.

Keep in mind that the SR on the 2nd-gen is different than the 3rd-gen. On the 2nd-gen it was an appearance upgrade package for the Base model. For the 3rd-gen the SR model is now the Base model which includes some body color matched trim as standard (unless the utility package is optioned.) New for 2019 is the SX package for SR models which is similar in concept to the SR appearance package was for Base 2nd-gen Tacomas. It adds some of the TRD body trim pieces as well as black painted aluminum wheels.
