What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Built a mount and installed a set of Hella 500 Black Magic’s behind the grille.

I’ve been wanting to do this for years and finally did it.











I still need to wire them up tomorrow.

And once it warms up above 25*, I’ll paint the mount.

 

Sounds like it, but i like yours better. Mine always seems small to me. I'm on 885s and wheelers aal, same tires

Update: Removing the cover made the smell go away! I hope I didn't damage anything. Crazy. Hope someone can pass along this info to never put the cover back on after the switch. I guess it was blocking enough airflow to cause the secondary pump to over work and heat up. Either that or it's a total coincidence.

 

I have done this mod twice and both times put the cover back on and never had any smells or ill effects

 

My whole bay smelled like something was getting hot. Like a hot glue gun. Could've just been something burning off the exhaust but I couldn't see anything. Cover off, no more smell.

 

Could it possibly be the paint you put on the cover? Idk just wondering. I just cleaned the cover and replaced it

Got a new 27F X2 battery in today. It’s pretty damn heavy and I don’t trust the stock holders off road, so I built my own. 3/8” J hooks and some 1/8” bar.

 

Scraped, wire brushed and POR15d the front and rear underside of the truck, skid plates included. Not much rust, but now there's insurance against it ever coming back. Messy process, but it's done.

 

Anyone do a transfer case swap with a 4 runner case instead of a FJ? Having trouble finding a cheaper FJ one with miles I’m comfortable with.
