For any of you with a '99-'00 Limited or an '01-'02 4Runner, can you answer the following question:

When you lock the center differential (engage CDL), are both VSC and TRAC turned off, or is only VSC disabled?

99 Limited 4Runner here - there wasn't actually VSC or TRAC for the 99 model year. Not much help with the question otherwise, sorry.

in my '01 4ruuner, both the VSC and TRAC are turned off when the transfer case is locked

additionally, there are some write ups out there on wiring in a switch to turn these off as well

    Really!?!

I posted the same question over on T4R.org (toyota-4runner.org), and one user stated almost identically to what you just said -- that both VSC and TRAC are turned off when the center diff is locked. I then quoted the toyota-4runner.org 3rd gen buyers guide, and another post on yotatech.com stating that locking the center diff only turns VSC off. He said... huh. Came back a day later and said he had gone and tested it, and verified that only VSC was turned off, but that TRAC stayed engaged!

    So... color me confused!

    But thanks for the post.
