I am 3rd owner of my '06 Silver Access Cab V-6 DOHC 5-Spd Auto 6'1" bed. YotaComa
Stock as I understand. Just installed a wireless charging air vent cell phone holder. I run Torque on my android with a BT OBDII dongle.
I had been appreciating the utility of a Yota truck a long time. My first truck was a 1984 Toyota R24 Long Bed. I loved it. However, I had a couple of gripes. I immediately bought a nice shell and carpet kit. While I enjoyed having that option. I really got tired of carrying all of that around (not the truck's fault). 2. The 2.4 L I4 was pretty ball less. I exchanged the transmission twice. And did the head once. I eventually sold it with 250K miles.

Since then, I've always missed my truck. I bought an 05 Prius new and now have 195k miles on it. After driving that car for 5 years. I needed a manual. So we bought a '97 Miata. We are on our second Miata now. An '04 MazdaSpeed with almost 100k miles on her. :)

I have had over heating problems with the MSM, and finally got fed up with it and took it to my trusty mechanic. However... This left wife and I with only the Prius. We both need a car. At first I rented a '18 Ford F-150 4x4. Loved it. I then rented a Nissan Frontier. Hated it. I then decided that I should have bought another truck of my own instead of renting one. Because my Miata was still in the garage. (I know. But it is a loooong story.).

I bought '06YotaTaco last Saturday. 226k miles 20190101_170808.jpg Got all the paperwork done and the widgets arriving. Just installed my wireless cell phone vent mount. It has a 6'1" bed with the 115VAC port. It has the Access Package, so it has all the room of an extra cab with 2 more suicide doors. I really would not ask many people to sit in that back seat. But it will hold a car seat if needed... My 2 shepherds approve of all the space too. It has the 4L V-6 with the VVT and DOHC Quad Valve heads. I am pretty sure I have the Auto 5 speed but would like to confirm if I have the Auto 6 speed. Is this bed all heavy heavy plastic. Or is there some steel or alum re-enforcement?

Love the truck. I have seen many many worse but this one is mine. I am considering bungee nets and cargo nets arranged somehow in the bed. I tease myself that I will dip the whole truck in Ryno Lining.

    Love me a Yota!

    Welcome!

You should have a 5 speed auto, and the whole tub of the bed is plastic. I assume it sits on the frame, which provides some added strength but honestly don’t know for sure. :notsure:

I have this little switch hanging from below left of stearing column. The other pic is the connector near my tow hitch. Can any of you tell me anything about these? I know the one in the rear is to connect to a trailer. But it looks damaged, and I have not seen this connector before. Is it a standard? Or just Toyota's version. How damaged is it? The under the dash may control an electronic break controller. I have no idea.
