    Those only cost $55! And I don’t have an air compressor either. Whenever we move and I get a proper garage, I’ll get a compressor and plasma cutter.

    It would be worth it though. Getting a wash/blowout done is close to $200. And during blowout season, you are supposed to do it at least once a month. Instead of getting the blowout, we brush her for an hour a day every day for 3-4 months a year. This would cut way down that time.

    Did you use "marine grade" heat shrink? It has "glue" on the inside which super seals the connection.
