Ok to leave off engine cover?

rodents recently chewed up a harness on my wife’s car. I inspected my truck to see if any had gotten in, and sure enough, I found a small nest and some turds. I vacuumed out what I could and I believe o got everything out, then blew it out with air. I inspected with a borescope and it looked ok.

Anyway, I want to leave the cover off to make it a little less enticing to critters. Any reason not to do this?

 

Noise is all.
Buy some cat food. The good canned kind. Put it near your truck. Cat food and any rodents will be gone.

As far as I'm aware, those are just "Beauty Trim". I'm not real fond of them, but understand why.

 

Yup. I yanked mine a few months back. Pulled off the mount bracket also.

I was just going for less useless crap under the hood and a bit more sound.
