    OK Gang:

I am a chevy guy at heart. Tri-fives, camaros, chevelles. Built many. But secretly I had a toyota pickup crush. So I bought an o4 Tacoma.

Yeah the frame is crusty so I did the panic thing, looked all over for one and then sobered up. If it needs work I will just fix it. I weld and can fabricate. OK so I took care of my frame fear.

So the Tacoma needs inspection and my temp tags run out in two weeks. I am pretty sure it needs front brakes so I will handle this weekend. Check.

And I know the tires will fail. Cracks between tread, OK thinks I, let's get new tires and while I am at it switch out the steelies. So I go to tire rack and ..... Every wheel says aggressive fitment. In other words the offset isnt happy with the config of the fenders and ride height. It wants lifted or fender mods. Not going there. Not sure about offset but I seem to think zero with a slight +++ offset would be close to factory. Not much I can see at tire rack that will do what I want from a wheel standpoint. Want to be pretty stock fit.

So I darted off of Tire Rack and hit craigslist and found a set of 6 lug sixteens from a 4 runner which are priced right. So as I am arranging to head out to see them, I mention my steelies and the seller tells me I can fit out steels for alloys because my wheel studs wont be long enough. Seriously?

Or does he really mean I need shanked lugs that inset the alloys?

Or does it mean 4runner rims dont cross over? Which if true will require 5 immediate shots of warm saki followed my an endless Rick and Morty binge.

help me Tacomians! I am a lost in a sea on non-interchangeability

Aha! I am not totally stupid. Partially but not totally. I figured no variability on the studs and likely the lugnuts. Thank you for helping my sanity.

Am I on track regarding the offset? Zero or just a few mms? If I decide to buy something new I just want to ballpark that.

    Many thanks!!!
