hey fellow Tacoma owners which serpentine belt brand would you choose? Brando? Dayco? Gates? If oem is less then $50 I’ll buy oem. My belt is starting to squeak, chirp mildly. Thanks in advance!

Any of those would be fine.

I believe Bando makes the oem (packaging is the same at least).

I’ve used bando belts in a half dozen vehicles.

If you have a noisy belt it’s likely a pulley or spill/leak. Modern EPDM belts are pretty bulletproof.

Totally unnecessary. Bando, gates, and dayco are OEM for many vehicles. If it makes you FEEL better, then spend more money for oem. If you just want a belt that will last for 100k miles, buy one of the three OP mentioned.

That’s cool lol I’m all for oem parts especially all the critical parts, but even I know Toyota’s belts are made by other manufacturers kind of like how there alternators, spark plugs are made by denso, and there water pumps are made by aisin.

I had a squeaking OE belt also. Replaced it with a USA made Dayco a few years ago and no more noise. As said, there's no reason to buy a belt from Toyota unless you want to waste money. Just buy one from a reputable mfg

Yea i ended up going with a gates which seems to be very reputable and quiet, unfortunately it’s not made in the USA or Japan there made in Mexico but let’s see how it holds up

The Continental Elite belt is as good as any. They are known to be quiet and last a long lasting.

I literally just installed a Bando on my 06 5 lug a few hours ago. Took all of 5 mins.

I put a Bando on my 2007 4.0 a year ago and it still functions perfect so I went with the same brand with the 4cyl.

Goodyear's Gatorback belts served well on my auto-x rig. In which I regularly hit the 7,200 RPM rev limiter.
