My dumb ass did something similar last time I changed the primary fluid in my Harley. I've done it multitudes of times, but for some reason I drained it before removing the derby cover. Of course one of the damn derby cover torx bolts stripped out. Normal drill with an easy out, but then it broke off. Ground the head off the bolt and removed the cover, and luckily there was enough sticking out to remove with vice grips. Lacking the skills and tools would have been a damn expensive tow to the Harley dealership.

If you don’t want to offend, you can always blow the smoke into the transfer case.

The front and rear differentials take the same oil. Mobil-1 synthetic 75W-90 will work fine. You will need a separate oil for the transfer case. The Ravenol 75W will do the job. It comes in a one liter container. Your transfer case will probably require just over a liter of fluid!

for diffs if you have the ecgs upgrade its Lucas 85w140. I run it in both front and rear diff's. As for xfer case, I think its straight 75. Toyota brand but I think Ravenol makes one as well.

I bought the $15 version and it works fine. Maybe the $5 version is just too cheap.

That’s for all the info, guys! Appreciate it.

The reason I’m doing this myself is because I want to learn. I actually think this is becoming a new hobby. I put on RCI skids not too long ago then became addicted. Then I got a prinsu, some light bars, suspension, and all sorts of cool stuff.

Then I realized that I shouldn’t just learn the cosmetic stuff, and now I want to learn how to maintain my vehicle. Every man should, right?

Also, I shipped my truck to the Middle East and I honestly don’t trust people here to work on it.

    Cheers
