Anyone using one of those swiss army knife key things?

Can the plastic be taken off of our keys? Or is there some kind of RF chip dingaling in there?

If there isn't anything in the key I may just bust the plastic off and drill to use one of these things.

 

Look at the pictures and note that the one key on the left that's not flat isn't in the fancy holder. IOW, doesn't work with smart key. Fine for the rest but won't make them any lighter and certainly won't change 12 keys into 6. Nice for a limited set though.

 

Pretty sure that's a bad idea. Just keep your key and fob on the ring and the rest in the holder on the ring.

 

I kinda like this idea, does it work with a key like ours? The ones in the video were all completely metal. I have 8 keys on my ring not including my truck key and my flash drive.

 

Instead of taking the plastic off a perfectly good original key I would buy a new key without the plastic. To me not worth the trouble

 

Just from a quick search, you can get something similar off ebay for about 5 bucks.

 

There are much more rugged or fancier ones out there and for cheaper. I just used that Amazon link because it displays the concept and function nicely.

 

How often are you really going to use the crap on that thing, ha?

I just want to organize keys and a usb. The knife and other attachments for this particular product are silly.

 

Yup, I've used this one for a few years now. I absolutely hated having more keys than I needed, and the jingling. I also hated dangling keys while driving, and the noise that goes with it. This thing = problems solved.
