@BillDaCat8 thanks again for the fuel bowl buddy! Got it installed this past weekend with @Roostfactor and we used your idea to heat up the end of a screwdriver to make the slits for the clamp that holds the pump. He thought that was a great idea, and it ended up working like a charm to get the holes just small enough.

Looks like my sending unit is taking a dump and reading the wrong fuel levels. I might as well piece together my own fuel pump upgrade it if the URD kit doesn't provide the proper tubing. Do I need anything other than the fuel pump, corrugated fuel tube, and a few hose clamps? I know they have an exterior fuel filter too.

Youll need a way to attach the new aftermarket fuel pump to the inside of the fuel bowl as well

The URD kit uses a hose clamp type thing, except its like a steel electrical tie wrap that tightens down as you pull on it

Haven’t seen them in years, before the move. No telling when I’ll find them again

You could use the Apollo hose crimp clamps. Home Depot carries them, along with crimped pliers

I personally would just get the URD kit. It's a really nice kit, and 100% complete. Way easier than trying to piece everything together and by the time you do, you wont really save much money. The time and research they put into the upgrade kit shows. Just get the racetronix tube to replace the one piece of gates rubber tubing that moves down and has the potential to get pinched. Other than that one piece, the URD kit is a very nice upgrade. Very well thought out

Yes, i believe that's all it is that comes with the kit. Nothing too special, just not very wide, and very thin so that you dont have to cut a bigger hole in the fuel bowl than necessary to thread it through. Also it being thin makes it easier when putting the hole fuel sending unit/fuel bowl back as it's a pretty tight fit going back into the fuel tank

Do you have to strip the wires before you use the butt connectors?

Absolutely. Butt splices do not cut through shielding.

I did the upgrade Monday. Went fine! Runs great! However, today (Thursday) I went to start it and it cranked for twice as long and then started and it did that every time today..... any ideas as to why it would all of a sudden start taking twice as long to start? Runs fine once started.
