Doing the same identical thing.
Wife working, home alone. After work I stopped by the supermarket to get flowers and candies. All flowers gone and the ones left were junk. Also all good candies sold out...
So, I got her a tie of carrots (come from the ground, right) and lotto. At least she can eat the "flowers".

 

My wife would probably appreciate the humor of a bunch of carrots in a pint glass over flowers. Good choice. She’s out of town for work though so I’m just drinking by myself.

Hey, at least the carrots are useful and healthier than candies.
We quit celebrating all these "holidays" a few years ago. We will do something for our anniversary but after 22 years of marriage we are just happy being together.

I dated a girl who wanted to have a movie night on Valentines Day. She chose “pretty woman”. Like...what’s more romantic than a guy falling in love with a hooker? Makes my heart melt.

I surprised my wife, loaded my Chinese picnic table, a bottle of Haak Winery $55 Texas wine(that’s expensive wine for me, I like the $8 stuff), brought me some Austin Texas, Ruby Red Grapefruit vodka and tonic water, stopped by an local Italian restaurant for some to-go Italian, drove down to the small lake I learned to sail on when I was a kid, ate our dinner, got some major points for that, then gave her some blue Safire with diamonds, earrings and matching necklace. That made it a triple batted-in, homerun....she wouldn’t know what that means....she’s Russian.
Seriously, she’s beyond worth it.....just survived a 1.5 year battle of sorts with breast cancer.

 

I had a fun experience... ordered roses through Costco a week ago for Valentines day delivery... they did not arrive and now scheduled now for Friday, awkward explaining but a good laugh anyway

 

I battled a dealer for three days for a new 2018 limited Magnetic Gray - last one on the lot that I had been watching for two months. Thought I lost it at their (final offer) and they went further with the deal to wrap it up. Ready to hit the sack and she says happy valentine you got a new truck. Best valentine day of my life!
