I think it’s a matter of year. Pre and post ‘18 will both fit the tss, but one comes with the garnish perhaps? It’s been a while since I ordered mine but there was definitely a price difference but either worked.

When I search their site it gives me a price of $233.12. Other places it's $400. What gives?

Some dealers' sites say they won't even sell to non-TRD Pro owners with proof of damage.

And I am confused about the various TSS covers. One seems to be a smooth, smoked/clear lens and the other one I saw on some new trucks at the dealer today is a black honeycomb looking thing.

Where did you obtain those parts at those prices? I've got a feeler out to gunny1005 at Camelback and should hear back tomorrow.

Are the parts for my '19 with TSS different than the parts for a 2016-2018?

I ordered the PT228-35180 from Pinehurst yesterday for my 2016 limited along with the non- glass garnish/lens ($26.99) and clips ($6) from eBay.

I think the PT228-35170 is the correct Pro grill for the 2016 without sensor but it’s $376.29 from Pinehurst.

From what I’ve read, the glass garnish/lens seems to be for the newer Pros and the non- glass garnish/lens for the 2017??? I prefer the non-glass finish, but it doesn’t really matter in my case since it doesn’t have a sensor.

The glass sensor is for TSS equipped trucks.

I was easily able to just provide a VIN ("Toyota Controlled Part":rolleyes:) through toyotapartsdeal website for a '18 or '19 Pro, took 30 seconds to find one on the internet, it's not like they are going to log it into some system; what, people are only able to "crack up" their vehicles once? Haha!

    1 - PT228-35180 - TRD PRO GRILL TACOMA - $183.75
    1 - 53141-35060 - GARNISH, RADIATOR GR - $51.87
    2 - 90183-06044 - NUT, SPRING - $1.54 ea.
    1 - 88214-04020 - WIRE, MILLIMETER WAV - $20.11
    Shipping was ~$20.

Photo of the grille, hope it helps:

I just tried both part numbers at toyotapartsdeal and they both came up as $400. One number even said it superceded to the other.

Appears Satin (smooth and slight shine, similar to well, satin house paint sheen), it is a Genuine Toyota Part and comes packaged and labeled as such, same as grille that is installed at the factory on the TRD Pro as far as I can tell.

Ouch, I just had a look,...my order was placed on 10/22/2018, maybe they caught on, probably just more Red Tape from Toyota to deter sales.:rolleyes:
