What color wheels on your truck? Silver steel or silver aluminum-alloy.

Also. I have a TRD Sport and the truck came up as a SR5 one time on a license plate search.

I'm telling you man, you either have an SR, or an SR5 someone went to impressive lengths to disguise as an SR, for which there would be no discernable reason. No telling why your paperwork says otherwise, but Its all the same isn't it? I don't assume you'd return it because it says it's an SR5, unless you played SR5 price and apparently got an SR.

If the window sticker you have says SR like you say it does, then it's safe to say it's an SR.

Ok, I understand. Yeah, that's a bit weird Haha. At least it states that it's a more expensive model and not the reverse. Good luck figuring that out.

The dealership is 2 hours away. You have no phone to call them, your email doesn’t work, the planets aren’t in alignment, your salesperson only made one sale ever before finding a new job……..

As everyone has said the window sticker is the best proof of what you actually got and may be helpful on something else in the future. If you need your hand held to figure out how to contact the dealership and get this information you are in a bigger predicament than just figuring out what trim level you have. This is not rocket science no matter how difficult you are making this. Get in touch with the dealership that made the sale.

Well since I didn’t bother to read your drama line by line due to boredom I guess that means my reading skills are lacking. One phone call or email with the selling dealer would have sorted this. Do I really need to read the 5 pages of conflicting guesses and contradictions to come to the same conclusion of contacting the selling dealer for confirmation? If what you have in your possession is different than what THEIR paperwork says there is a huge problem. But it won’t be because no one is going to make that mistake. Thats why the paperwork from the selling dealer is the only thing that matters. Websites, brochures, DMV or anything else may have typos or inaccuracies. The dealers sale paperwork has to be accurate because it is a contract that could come back on them if they screw it up.

Enjoy your SR, SR+, SR5, TRD, Pinto, Gremlin or whatever you own.

Yet you are still moaning about:

Who cares? The parts dealership has different information which came from who knows where. If there is something that conflicts then having that window sticker or sales paperwork may be useful especially if there are differences in the two trims that could affect parts you need ordered. At some point they may order parts for you either warrantee or otherwise. You can bet they will order parts based on your VIN unless you can prove definitively that what you have is different. Maybe the originating dealer made a mistake when registering your info with the vehicle and Toyota. (I honestly have no clue as to their computer systems or integration). If so maybe they need to correct a clerical error.

My whole point has been you need that paperwork from the originating dealer for clarity and to ensure any future issues can be dealt with quickly and efficiently. Great you now know it is an SR. See how much weight that will carry when your truck is down and then delayed because wrong parts got ordered or your warrantee claim is on hold because the paperwork doesn’t jive. If you can’t see how I am trying to help then so be it.

Fair enough.. Every piece of paperwork I have from the purchasing dealer, the window sticker.. states SR.. the part I question is.. I went to order a part from the local dealer yesterday.. I needed them to tell me what color I needed.. So he ran the vin and it shot out paperwork with all of my trucks details.. What I dont understand is why everything I have states SR except what this sheet states.. Its the only thing I have that says SR5 and I was merely curious as to why.

Who knows why. I would still start with the selling dealer. Like I mentioned earlier they might have made a clerical error. Or maybe there is a glitch in Toyota corporate's system. No matter what it will involve the selling dealer at some point if a clerical error is assumed. Who knows IF this inaccuracy will ever get sorted. But my money is on it involving a discussion with the selling dealer.

Curiosity killed the cat. How curious are you? Either live with the clerical error / glitch or dig in to fix it.
