CMC is a must. Find someone who knows what they are doing. Did mine in just under 2 hours. Your truck look absolutely great. Good job brother.

 

MIG or TIG? Just out of curiosity.

 

Mig and we stitch welded it so not to set cab body mount on fire.

 

Cleaned up and hit it with paint. It's real easy.

Just for further affirmation. If you’re rubbing them might as well chop. The filler plate is only like 1/8-3/16” so doesn’t required a lot of heat from welder to penetrate. My friend, who’s a fabricator by trade, did mine with a TIG welder but that’s just his perferred method. Just make sure that whoever welds it up disconnects the battery. The potential for cooking the electronics in the truck.


While at it he gusseted and powder coated my spindles. Very happy with the final outcome
