We can do a Hondo mount on the vent, but I personally don't like that look. I'd rather have something like a DSM for that side.

Ordered mine today. What length arm are you guys using for your phones? I'll be using mine with the Hondo Mount.

So I only need the DSM with ball? But I don’t see that option. I already have a hondo mount, so I have the arm and phone cradle

You just have to order them separately, the DSM and then the ball are separate items in the store. Thank you in advance!

While driving I notice mine vibrating. More frequently when roads get a little bumpy. Is that normal or do I just need to tighten it? I thought it was pretty tight/snug, but I'm just afraid of breaking something. I'm an over-torquer. Lol. Is there a proper torque spec? :)

Depends on the severity of the vibrations and the mount you are using, I believe you mentioned you would be using a hondo mount, which I haven’t used before but seems to be very steady, the arm will also make a difference I recommend using the shortest arm possible to minimize the chance for vibrations. The device you use will also have an effect, the heavier the load the more pronounced the vibrations will be.
I haven’t done any destructive testing to see how much torque these could actually hold but it’s quite a bit.
Another thing you might want to check is the bushing and washer that hold the ball. The washer should sit on top of the bushing.

I thought about the arm length. Was gonna order a shorter one but didn't think 1" would make that much of a difference. Switch from the 3" to the 2". Think the weight of the arm would matter? Have an aluminum now. Could switch to the composite. The Hondo Mount has some weight and so does the Pixel XL. I didn't check what order the hardware is for the ball, just installed it how I received it. I'll check it all and tighten stuff again. The vibrations are just a slight jiggle. Not bad, just enough to be annoying.

What cellphone do you use with this mount? I have an IPhone 8plus and was looking to see if it worked with this one.

So far very stable on bumpy roads. I went with the ‘static’ holder and still found plenty of adjustment. The advice to pull the dash trim from the right side was helpful.

With the single mount, can I mount it on the passenger side?

Do I need the swivel if I want to turn the small phone/tablet mount sideways?

I want to mount a handheld Wilkie talkie with long antenna.

I don’t think it will work, the backing plate has a threaded portion that protrudes and wouldn’t sit flush if flipped over.

Swivel would be good if you want to switch orientations without loosening clamp.
