    Up in Pennsylvania visiting the Parental Units for the three-day weekend. Decided to go out and do a photo-op.

    This is the Martin's Mill Bridge, in Franklin County. It is 203' long, and was built in 1849. It managed to survive the Civil when Lee's army invaded the state on it's way to Gettysburg. But in 1972, it wasn't so lucky. The wooden bridge was knocked off of its piers due flooding caused by Hurricane Agnes. Two different halves of the bridge sat on either side of creek about 100 feet down stream.

    But thanks to community efforts, it was all put back together and for a while was open to traffic. Today it is open only to pedestrian traffic. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
