My new 2019 TRD 4x4 off road AT has the surge problem when backing and when coming to a stop, when coming to a stop I wonder if its the transmission down shifting but when backing its bad and I have to hold the foot break on till it passes will bring it up with the dealer but how annoying.

As strange as it may sound but using 91 gas made a big difference in how and how often it shifts. Not that I was complaining but it really did improve. As a side plus I went 20 more miles on the tank. I think it's 91 for me from now on.

My 91 GTI, 97 XJ, and 99 integra gsr were all pretty damn flawless. Sounds like you make bad decisions.

I can't read this anymore I just got a new 2018 limited on valentines day. The truck test drove like it should for its design - automatic. Pick it up Saturday - Magnetic Gray! Awesome truck! Can't wait!

As much as I gripe about the taco and its issues, I'd rather walk with bloodied nubs than drive an accord. I'm sure your girls happy though

I tried different octane gas and didn't really notice much of a difference. The 20 miles more to the tank probably has more to do with less ethanol in it than the higher octane. If your area has 0 ethanol gas; maybe try that and see if you get the same results? Out my way the 0 ethanol gas costs about the same as mid-grade.

Prius owners found out the hard way that the Atkinson cycle does not like high octane gas, so I was surprised that 93 octane didn't change any drivability characteristics of my truck.

I COMPLETELY LOVE MY 2018 SPORT and haven't done any TSB to ""fix"" whatever shifting problems SOME people complaint about. Seems like some folks want a Ferrari engine on a Tacoma!
Perhaps buy a different truck for true complaints...

Then why are you in a thread titled "buyers remorse" making comments?:der: Oh right.. "contributing forum member"

I loved my XJ. 255k miles before i got rear ended and spun into oncoming traffic. Never did anything besides basic maintenance and never a single problem. It saved my life. That jeep was my rock for years and the 4.0 inline 6 is legendary.

Good one. Perfect in my book would be liking every single aspect of the vehicle. Pretty hard thing to do if you look at things objectively and without rose colored glasses

After looking at your postings, you’re a massive troll and a know it all. I came in to this thread to possibly have a civil conversation with people about a subject. The op just created a profile to post one time bashing a truck with no intelligent contribution. Just like you did.
