I want to get opinions on my parts list for my truck. I'm recycling some of the parts from my old car and buying some new. Just curious if this would flow smoothly or if anyone has any recommendations. Plan is to run everything through the DSP and not touch the stock Head unit just wondering if that's a bad idea.

    Parts being re-used: (including wiring)

Sub amp- Rockford Fosgate Prime 1200W sub amp

4 Channel Speaker Amp- Soundstream TN4.900D

Front speakers- Crescendo UN 65 6.5" Loudspeakers

    Front tweeters-Image Dynamics xs-28 tweets

    Parts to buy:

DSP-Dayton 408 DSP + Dayton Bluetooth USB + Dayton Wired Remote Control (volume knob)

    Subwoofer-Image Dynamics IDQ10 V.4 D2 10" Sub

Sub box & speaker adapters from mrmarv.

I'm guessing you'd know more than anybody since this is just the same setup as your old car with an added DSP and different sub. The soundstream amp is the most ehhhhhh thing I see here. The DSP looks interesting except for how bulky the wiring is going to look. It might be awesome, IDK. Let us know how it turns out.

It sounded great in my car how it was setup but it's what I'm used to so I guess I don't know any different. Soundstream amp has been good and actually worked exactly as I thought it would. Haven't tried a DSP before.

DSPs are great, especially if you get time alignment on the crossovers. A little delay can save you a ton of EQ correction at the crossover point. This one is interesting because of all of the parametrics you get. I used to hate them, now I love them. I have an iffy relationship with Dayton though, I've tried to use some of their subs as replacements, and I hated them. It may have been the cabinet, it may have been the driver. On paper they matched up but the result was I tossed the drivers and burned the cabinets. I think the speaker design was shit but I wanted to give it a chance. Hydros are just impractical and underwhelming so I gave up on it completely. I've considered using Dayton plate amplifiers but moved on to different ideas and never tried them out.
