i need to change my 6 speed fluid. Manual says to use gl-4-gl-5 75w90. The rear axle w/locker
2wd TRD calls for 90w. Is this the same as 75w90?

Ok thanks. On the 75w90 for the trans. Does brand matter I usually use name brand fluids in my vehicles. I’m in Alabama. Where summer last 10 months out of the year

I prefer easy to obtain product at reasonable cost.

The choice between syn and dino (that you didn't ask about) would be based on 1) how you use/abuse the vehicle and 2) are you willing to extend the OCIs, which is a prime reason to use syn.

Since it calls for a GL 4 / GL 5 in the trans, I'd go straight GL 4, which is not easy to find. I like an elixer Ford sells Ford XT-M5-QS. Your parts guy may not be familiar, but it's an SVO product. It's not cheap, but you can double your OCIs and enjoy smoother shifting while you do it. Well proven in the auto-x world in many marquees.

I had no issues with Mobil 1 in the diff. of the same auto-x vehicle.

If you don't care for the Ford idea in the trans, Mobil 1 in the right spec for both the trans and diff is also fine.

Sorry i didnt read correctly.. it should be fine, its the correct weight. Whatever additive is in there for the LSD wont hurt the manual trans. Its just bearings and brass in there

Decided not to use Mobile 1 75w90 in the 6 speed. 2 quarts of redline mt90 arrived today from Amazon.

FWIW. Toy dropped the dual Gl-4 or Gl-5 for the transmissions on later models and specifies a Gl-4 only.

No. The diff uses a GL5 IIRC

In my autox ride I just used Mobil 1 of the correct GL and weight.
