    Hey all,
Long time stalker first time poster. I have a 2017 tacoma dclb trd OR with an ARE shell. So far love the truck. a little about my use for it. I use it for vacation trips, hunting, and camping. Maiden voyage was 5 days in Utah with the most adventurous thing being Schafer trail out to Moab. It's been to the eastern sierras loaded down with about 6-700lbs of gear.
For my build I'm thinking of doing some sliders (no brand determined yet), cooper discover stt pro either 265/75r16 or 285/75r16, and a fox 2.0 coil overs with matching in the rear and maybe add a leaf.
My asking from you guys is please chime in with suggestions on what I'm doing here. Any warnings on your experiences

Sorry I was half way through typing when my phone spazzed. Hopefully the edited version is more clear.

I want to be able to handle fire road to moderate Trails, stuff like white rim in Moab, and some of these trials to back woods lakes in the sierras are really where I would like to be in the next couple years. Don't want to waist money overbuilding, or cheap out under building and regret it. Thanks for the input.

Well pulled the trigger and ordered the first piece. 265/75r16 toyo opencountry mt. Should be in Monday. 920 out the door mounted balanced. From what I've seen on here no rubbing should happen with this size I'm hoping I'll have the same luck. I'll be sure to post pics when done. Decided on the 265/75 based on people saying under powered with the 285s.

Assuming lift is involved here, I'd hold off until you know you need a lift to do what you want to do.

No lift here. Just 265/75r16. No rubbing. I think I'm pretty happy for now without a lift. Probably sliders next.

Lol... that’s my new line at work when some “genius” has an end state idea without an action plan... excellent, “what’s phase two?”, hahaha

Also the daily driver ranger got the tacoma take off tires so I'm pretty sure that's gonna make it way more reliable and way more horse power.

@Pbguy09 nice rig. I too have no lift currently but would like to get into 265/75r16 tires for a little more functionality for off road. Can you tell if just by adding those, you added any overall lift to the truck itself just with tires? Nice pics, btw, thanks for sharing.

@azstruble so the stock tires I had were 265/70 actual measurement I believe was 30.5. The actual measurement for the toyo open country was about 31.5. I and I believe the cooper discovers I was Looking at were 31.8. So I got about a .5 inch of lift overall running at 35spi and the weight of the truck after being mounted. It's not much of a lift but it's something. It was more for performance than the lift. mainly added sidewalk strength. Hope this helps. Any other questions feel free to ask. always check the manufactured tire charts for true measure the the tire. Not all 265/75s are made equal. I'm just about maxed for width without spacers or a new rim from rubbing on the uca.
