I run nitrogen so the air pressure doesn't fluctuate much at all. Tires are set to 30 cold and very seldom do I see it any lower than 29 and after driving it goes up to 31 lbs.

    Just twice. Good to know.
I was letting some air out the other day to hit the trails, and I could tell by the smell mine was getting stale.
Makes me wonder if the shop put some old air in when I had the tires changed out.
Can't be good for inner tire longevity..

I hear if you don't change out your air at least twice a year you get dry rot, just a friendly heads up.

Maybe they had some water in the air lines then it smells later when you air down.

Thanks. I think I'll just go with three times a year to be on the safe side. I have my own compressor, and good clean mountain air.
I'll also do it on a day with low humidity.

Not sure if this helps but.....

I have the same size tire on a 16 inch wheel. I put them all at around 37.5 to 38 psi....the gauge in the truck should say 36 cold as it reads a little lower. My truck handles the best on the highway with this pressure.

Our 4runner has the exact same size tire as yours and run the same pressures 37.5 to 38 for the highway.

Anything less than this and handling is sloppy (I come from driving a 350z for 10 years )

Tacoma is running destination AT's and 4 runner is running Bridgestone Revo 3's

That Tennessee air has a bit of a twang to it. You should probably order Chilean air off Amazon.

    Good call.
I've got Prime, and the last thing I need is to get some banjo music caught in a tire.
