Hey Fellow Photogs. Looking for some insight and ideas to help myself and anyone else who might have this same issue.

So i've been shooting in and out of the truck when off roading for some time now. And i have yet to figure out a good solution to store my camera for quick access without it flying around in the cab.

    Info:
I've got a 1st gen xtra cab (MT)
5d mkIv with a battery grip. I'll generally have a 100-400, 70-200, or the 24-70 on the camera.

I keep most of the other equipment in a 1535 behind my seat that i'll access when i'm not in a rush.

My go to right now is to stuff a bunch of jackets behind the passenger seat and all our front runner boxes and just wedge the camera in there so i can grab it quickly when exiting the truck.
If i don't have a passenger i'll put it on the floor in a pile of jackets. i tried the seat but it flew off into my shifter and haven't done that since.

Some ideas i've recently had were to mount a peak design capture to something rigid. What and where i have no idea.

Or to make some sort of hanging strap of sorts to come off the headrest. probably nothing too long because i don't want to have it swinging about on rough roads.

Post up images ideas and anything you currently do.
    Whats worked?
    What hasn't?
Lets get it all out there

I don't remember, do you have any under seat storage and what's available in the back?

Very little under seat. I usually have a couple front runner boxes in the back and a backpack and small soft cooler with snacks and drinks and then the pelican.

Hmmm... How often do you have a passenger? Maybe something like a soft case “gun holsterish” bag on the passenger side of the console or a secure bag w/ foam on the floor directly in front of your seat? Both are easy grabs for you. Similar concept of my radio bag, but yours would be attached so it could be collapsed when not used.

not a bad idea. maybe something on the backside of the console so that way i can have a passenger.
and come to think of it. i might be able to keep my arm rest up and mount that plate to the center console and have the camera there. going to have to play around with those ideas.

Haha with out powers combined. We can pick and pull everything.

So I scoped some of those holster bags out. Very reasonably priced. Until you want one for a telephoto lens. Then it just compounds like crazy.
