I've seen it done with a supporting jack and without it. Mine was done without support and it was fine. These are made by alpine designs. Check em out on IG

I took it to a local fab guy since he has a plasma cutter. It took him a solid 6 hours to get this done.

So, in thinking about wrap ideas, my guy Sergio @ PDX_Graphics did a topo wrap with cutout topo lines. It's just in the lower panels and mirror covers for now and I'll add the hood later.

Oh, and my GFC is getting closer to a reality. My estimated build completion is March-April, so I'll be doing a road trip to Montana soon!

Mind sharing photos of what you had to trim out of the wheel well. I know you did a cab mount relocation and I assume you had to flatten the pinch weld but curious if/what else you had to trim (flares, fenders, wheel liners, etc.)? Also did you instal superbumps to limit uptravel and prevent rubbing at the top of the wheel well? Thanks in advance and awesome build.

Will do this weekend. I’m also installing the new fend-x liners and will post pics all at once for you.

Finally got to improving the interior with sound deadening on four doors as well as installed an @oemaudioplus Reference 500q system with sub amp.

Sound deadening is game changing as it drastically cut down on road noise and makes the cabin feel and sound more luxurious. I selected this new 3 in 1 product from Silencer Inc (based out of Washington state).

I did this on my Vanagon and it was such an improvement. Looks like it's time to add it to the Taco mod list too.......

Interested as well in if you had to flatten the pinch welds, etc... I’ve been cutting and almost brought out the sledgehammer this weekend for the wheel wells, was hitting the pinch weld as hard after the bumper and winch install.

wondering if finally doing a good lift with UCAs would help me avoid having to bang in the pinch weld. Thanks, your truck is a big inspiration in my build!

Well, with the wheel well being so small, I think you should still flatten the pinch weld. Be careful with the BFH and don’t smash in the firewall!

Yes a lift and UCA’s will help, but not so much when tucked. YMMV

Put the CVT on for a few weeks to reminisce the old "overland" setup
