Like @BassAckwards mentioned above make putting an LCE header one of your first mods. It's my understanding that it's like driving with the ECT button on all the time. @Nitori did it to his truck and he likes it.

Price all that stuff out before you order anything. Gears, SC, header, etc

You may find it cheaper and easier to trade it in on a v6

The LCE header is an equal length design (unlike the stock manifold) so it helps get more of the exhaust out and it's not fighting itself to be expelled. The header bolts right up and makes a noticeable difference throughout the power band. I feel like my truck no longer struggles to get up to speed. With the header and the filter, the truck feels much better/torquey-er

Small change but every little bit helps. I left my secondary charcoal filter in since i drive on really dusty roads.

Agreed, could probably do without the supercharge and header (although would be nice) which would make it worth it to trade, otherwise would be a decent option

Even the v6 needs gears after adding a few extra lbs and larger tires

2016 2.7 2WD here. 2.25 inch lift in front, 1” in rear. Stock wheels with 235/85/16 (32”) Cooper ST Maxx tires. Not going to win a drag race. Go to the mountains almost every weekend and still tow utility trailer with two 12’ kayaks to the water for fishing whenever.

If you are gonna need tons of HP, why choose the 2.7?

I chose the 2.7 because of my long running Toyota 4 cyl. truck psychosis.
I've been MORE than happy with 156 horses.

But if I had needed twice that power, I'd have gone V6. Anyway, whatever. rockon

I don't need tons of HP or speed or anything, I was asking more so am I making a mistake in lifting and upgrading the 2.7 merely from a mechanical standpoint. I didn't want to be doing something that the engine can't handle, so I was just seeing if it could and peoples experience with it. Anyways, whatever. Have a good one
