I was looking at similar options and I ended up buying a Rugged E-series hard trifold a couple of weeks ago. I like the idea that I can put something light on top and not worry about cutting/scratching the vinyl and hopefully it fades less than vinyl. I had a Pace Edwards roll top on my 2001 Silverado that had a vinyl skin attached to the metal slats and an Extang vinyl hinged tonneau on a 2004 Ranger. I found myself constantly applying a UV protectant on both to minimize UV fade on the vinyl.
