Just put on some RCI Sliders today; I think I will just go over some of the notable points.

First off, RCI quotes a 5 week lead time for powder coated sliders. They actually shipped mine within 4 days of placing the order, so I had them in-hand in less than two weeks.

FedEx dropped the boxes off w/o me having to sign for them. The back ends of the sliders had pierced the shipping boxes slightly. The passenger side has some powdercoat chipped off on the back corner weld as a result. I'm just going to touch it up later.

    On to the install....

2 of the mounting holes in the frame are obscured by plastic fillers that clip on through the frame. They are hard to see if the frame is dirty. The front-most filler cap has 4 clips in the back and is a real pain to get out.

BTW, I wiped the mounting surfaces on the frame with a rag misted with some WD-40 to get the dirt off.

All of my frame holes lined up pretty well. I torqued the bottom bolt on the driveshaft carrier bracket to 45lb-ft and used some blue thread lock on the bolt.

On 2017+ Tacomas, 2 of the 6 holes on the side of the frame (per side) are too small for the bolts supplied. RCI's instructions says that it is not necessary to use these. OK. I may go get some slightly smaller diameter bolts to put in these holes later.

The rear bolt on the driver's side comes out between 2 brake lines. It was a pain to get in. I wrapped the nut and bolt threads with some double adhesive foam tape to help prevent rubbing.20190216_184812.jpg

In the middle of the driver's side there is a bracket on the outside that has to be removed and an electrical box on the inside of the frame (not mentioned in the instructions).

The bolt would prevent the box from being re-mounted if I had left it with the threads pointing in as RCI's instructions said to do. I put a backer on each side and had the bold head on the inside of the frame so the electrical box would fit back correctly. Also put some foam tape over the bold head to prevent any rubbing on the brake lines.

A better or more complete install video would have been nice. Final product looks great, but a bit of a PITA to install.

Someone else in another thread mentioned that there were a couple of bolts that were too big for the holes as well. I had no issues with any. I have an 18.

Some photos of how I dealt with the brake lines.

So in the above picture, I ended up cutting the bolt and making it much shorter as it prevented the reinstallation of the electrical unit that was there. 3 min with the dremel metal circle did the trick. I also added 2 washers to the bolts that pass through on the left and right and fits perfectly.

However, I still am struggling with the driver side hole behind the above picture. I am VERY hesitant to "split" the brake lines or pass the bolt thru.

Not sure how RCI will deal with this but on a 2019 DCSB OR...this is a struggle point for me.

I put the bolt in as shown above then cut some 3/8 fuel line and tie wrapped it to the line to protect it. It wasn't touching, but reeeeeeal close, so I added the fuel line. I popped the white retainers out to get it installed and back in once tight.

Got through the majority of the install today of the sliders (installed front/transmission/transfer case skid plates as well). Only thing I am having trouble with are the front support mounting plates - The top farthest to the front bolt is unreachable for me, I can get the bolt through but cannot get my arm back far enough (inside the frame rail) to add the backer plate/nut, nor is there enough room or space/spot to get through to it to torque it down.

How did you guys do this?

Also, I only had 3 holes that I could bolt on each side to the frame rail (besides the drive shaft cross member bolt), where are the others, could you post a picture of their locations? I didn't see any and there were only 3 holes on each side that would fit the bolts through properly that lined up.

Other than those two things, they look great and seem pretty solid, aside from the missing mounting plate and additional bolts. I will likely end up buying some extra hardware to add to the frame rail (narrower bolts)

Thanks for any help, I'll be calling RCI on Monday.

If I am remembering correctly there is a thin plug on the frame covering up one of the mounting holes. Also I recall that most forward bolt was a pain in the ass but it is reachable. I think I removed a plastic cover to get to it

Poke around with a pik tool where a bolt should go and you will see what I’m talking about. It may have been a sticker instead of plastic plug but you’ll find it !

See post #2, there are some pics of the 'hidden holes'. They are well camouflaged if your frame is dusty.

I just finished installing these on my 2020 TRD Pro.

On the driver side I had to put one bolt through in reverse like @BrokeDownSouth and @pinem56. I also had to skip a bolt in the rear because it came through right between the 2 lines and I wasn't comfortable splitting them apart with either a bolt head or washer. No issues at all on the passenger side.

I tried to take a picture of my reversed bolt and rubber tubing wrap job but it turned out super blurry :/ I may redo this soon with a shorter bolt instead. Didn't have a cutting disc for the grinder yesterday.

None of the slider manufacturers get to choose how the frame holes line up with brake lines. In the grand scheme of things, flipping the two bolts in question around and wrapping the brake lines with a bit of rubber/plastic is no big deal. There is a harness wire on the outside of the frame on the drivers side as well that has to be wired to the frame as the slider will cover up the hole for the plastic bracket that holds it in place. Not a big deal either.

I understand the fear of having to jerry rig stuff on your truck, if it is still fairly cherry. But this type of mod is nothing to fear.

Thanks, OP! Still helpful to people (me) installing the RCI sliders:thumbsup:

Started the job last night on the passenger side, but I think I'll take it off and clean the frame really well like suggested. Will try again this weeekend.
