    Love the Montucky Cold Snacks!

I've never had any but heard about them on a podcast the other day. Tried to source them online because they aren't sold close to me, shipping was like 2X the cost of the beer. Because I can't get them, I can't get them out of my head:annoyed:

Good thing I'm headed to Whitefish in September:drunk:

So you don't need to lift a full can out of there while leaning over the tail gate. Flip up the hinged piece and slide one out. Latch it with a barrel bolt.

I bought system in parts...panels and tilt mounts are from Renogy. Mounting hardware to Thule rack are my leftover triple clamp handlebar mounts for a motorcycle. They fit great over the rack rails. MPPT controller is an Epever Triron 2210N 20A. Batteries are from Windy Nation. Other smaller things like cables, fuses, power distribution, cable gland, etc...are from variuous vendors.

I'm ready to start my bed build v2 -- what are my options for securing a heavy-duty custom drawer system. I don't want to use any front tie-downs as I want to maintain full access to the side pockets. BTW, I've got a DCLB

Here is my drawer system I built for my gen 3 taco DCLB. Wanted to minimize cost so I tried to use mostly wood.
Took about 4 hours of cutting to get this all put together.
Header is a 2x10 cut down to 2x9
3 runners are 2x10 cut down to 2x9 so they are flush with wheel well. Drilled into the header with pocket screws.
I used two aluminum strips for spreaders to keep the boards evenly apart all the way down the drawers.
Used 23/32 plywood to make the boxes
1/4 inch plywood to make the top.
Got some 1x4 for the sliders. Cut all of them inhalf. Used vasoline to lube sliders.
All the wood cost about 120 dollars.
    Used 2 23/32 plywood
    2 1/4 plywood
    2 2x10x14' cut inhalf obviously
    6 1x4x6'

Then used scraps to make dividers
Camp Chef Everest stove $100 at REI
    Collapsable sink $20 REI
7.5 gallon water jug $20 REI
    Cutting board $18 Walmart
Chargetech 27,000 MaH (maybe $90. Ive had for a few years.)

The left drawer from header down holds
5 gallon jerry gas can (fully sealed)
    Divider
8 inch pot, 12inch skillet, 10inch skillet, strainer, collapsable mixing bowl, plastic bowls, glasses, plates and silverware. Also has spice rack
    Divider
Everest stove with slider top for placing stove ontop. Just pushes back pull out stove pull slider back and place stove ontop. In the stove compartment holds 4 1 pound propane tanks.

    Right drawer
    5 gallon jerry can
    Divider
    7.5 gallon water can
    Divider
Dry goods. Holds about 30 cans or so( just to give feel for size)
Cutting board with collapsable sink underneath with storage for 2 knives.

Chargetech powerbank mounts onto the side of the right slider. Made a bracket so that it can charge while the truck is running through the 110 outlet. Can use this to run our usb fans and led work light for about 8-9hrs off a single charge. Also used for charging phones.

Then for the bed I found a brand new casper queen mattress for $100... (craigslist luck guy bought for son moved forgot about it kid tried it for 1 night and was too firm, was past return period n he wanted to get rid of it)
Trimmed 4 inches off the length and it fits perfectly. Will post a picture of that once we go on our next trip. Nothing fancy but works pretty nice for us! Anything that could be changed or added please comment.
    Enjoy!20190225_130127.jpg 20190225_130322.jpg 20190215_195316.jpg 20190225_130210.jpg

You can just put trap doors in. I have 1 at each rear corner so I can access the cubbies when drawers are closed. They could be done up in front of the wheel wells if wanted.

Nutserts(aka rivnuts) and some type of brackets are an option if you are okay with drilling holes in your bed. Otherwise it's a tie down...

Closing tailgate? Asking here because it’s probably the best area to.

I built a simple platform. I climbed in it and guess what? I struggled to find a way to reach the tailgate to close it. How the heck do you achieve this?
