Wow, didn't get through all but basically 18 pages of hate and counting. It's not for everybody, OP certainly likes it and it's quite unique. To each their own. Welcome to the site.

It's not my style, but I'll at least explain why it's not my style. It's a fad, a peacock's feather that wants to stand out for the sake of standing out. I'm not condemning this mind you, there's nothing wrong with wanting to follow the latest fashion, it just ain't for me. At least when it comes to big purchases.

Right now it's wide tires, pompadours, and man buns. (The latter is finally on its way out, thank the gods).
Just a few years ago it was gauged earlobes, twin TV's in the headrests, and three 12" subwoofers in the trunk. A few years before that it was all JNCO baggy shorts and this:

    maxresdefault.jpg

In a few years time clean-shaven will be the in thing again, hi-def LCDs on each wheel will be all the rage, and disco will still suck. I can't wait for those times.

To each their own until his crappy stance throws a rock through your windshield. He’s negatively impacting others in the road and brags about it so he’s just a dick right?

Wide stance is great for shooting stability..... Oh wait, that's not what we're talking about?

in all reality it should be a Hawaii plate, I never saw anything like this *cough* in the time I lived in Virginia, I know for a fact that it won't pass inspection in that configuration, and I wouldn't be surprised if he got tickets from VSP for it, I was ticketed for having 1 size over stock tires.

Tinted....not my truck though, took this pic at the Philly auto show a couple weeks ago. It's all about that wide stance lately.

    Welcome @Fattaco11

I'm not here to enforce vehicle codes. Could be illegal where he is, I don't know. I do know that my state have codes that won't let your wheels/tires stick out pass the fenders without having mudflaps. Code enforcement is a whole different story. I see lots of things that shouldn't be.

Way too many people mod their trucks in this way and then hardly ever take it off road. It's all for show, these people are trying to feel better about themselves by getting attention and being 100% super cool bro. Fitting in with their crowd while trying to be "different" at the same time? So sad. When did buying unnecessary shiny stuff become a lifestyle? I get discouraged at the amount of time and effort most people put into surface treatments and looking good, while completely ignoring the quality of our characters.
The best part is, most mods will bring down the value of the vehicle! I spend less on my truck, live my life fuller, and get more money come sales time. Win.
But really, who is to say how a person should spend their money? This is just my opinion on the root cause of this widespread social issue. The unfortunate truth is, modifying your vehicle does not make you a better person. Get some counseling, learn a skill, volunteer your time... do something that will actually make it nicer to be you. Then you will feel better about everything, even if you are driving a piece of junk. And you won't feel compelled to wreck a perfectly good truck just to get attention and "be special."
    I vote no.

    No. This nonsense is everywhere.
