I have dreamed of owning a TRD Tacoma since my early teens (now in my 30's), had a rough experience with a Yota Pick-Up, traded for a 4Runner that I wheeled the piss out of from 167,000-270,000 miles where I sold her before moving again to Japan. I finally have the means to afford my dream, and here she is: Follow along as the build takes shape and adventure commences!

Goals with Truck: Literally I need a vehicle that provides good, dependable, overlanding capability. I need it, a Fiesta St was pulling the duty of getting my aggressive trail running ass to these gnarly tucked away trail-heads, and I was going to kill her. This baby (My TRD) opens a whole new world of possibility. She has already been tested pretty well and pushed to get where I need to go. Plus, Paying her off asap is my #1 goal (less payments = more $$$ for truck parts!)

    Day I Picked her up:

    As She Sits Now:
    20190902_142427.jpg

    Current Mod List:
    -TRD Front Skid
    -TRD "Beadlock" 16" Wheels
    -Front Suspension: "On Order"
-Rear Suspension: Fox Racing 2.0" Remote Reservoirs w/ Deaver AAL (+2")
-Snugtop Rebel: Windoor, HD+ Sportsman Pkg, Painted TRDPRO Cavalry Blue
    -FrontRunner Slimline II Roof Rack
    -Sliders: CBi Offroad w/ Kickout

Pulled and coated the factory skid for better OffRoad visibility.

Agree to both! These were taken at Dugawala and Ft Ebey Parks, on Whidbey. I'm an avid trail runner... And Callisto TRD takes me places to do that!

one minor concern I have is this corner, It looks as though it may have been bent in shipping... and may require some finagaling to get it to line up straight once it is coated and when I go to install. The first photo is the right side, straight and narrow, the second is the bent guy... we shall see. CBi Sliders (6).jpg CBi Sliders (5).jpg

Sliders on... Install was straightforward minus a few issues, and the fact that they seem to throw the same bag of fasteners in for 2nd and 3rd gen so you have to mix and match. The front support was bent in shipping... But I got it back in place and lined up just fine... VERY happy with these guys!

Hey man looks great! I can tell we have similar taste. I ordered and am still waiting on those same sliders and I have the same exact truck pretty much.

That's awesome! You won't be disappointed with the sliders... word of advice, make sure to install the stick nuts first... I missed that step and at the very end had to do a lot of re-work to get them in. Otherwise super straight forward and they are a solid piece for sure!

Been Back and Forth, debating, comparing, debating, comparing... BedRack? or Canopy? or Bedrack? or...maybe Canopy?!

-Today I finally pulled the trigger on a canopy! Can't wait to see this bad boy come in and start converting it for summer... and plus, it gives me somewhere to stick all the stickers I have been collecting! Updates in a month when it get's installed!

You won’t regret going with the canopy! Loved mine on my 2nd Gen, can’t wait to get one back on my new 18’. Nice seeing another long bed, SB’s are like mosquitoes around here. Look forward to seeing how your build comes along, great looking truck!

Hey James, You'll dig the canopy. What model did you end up getting?
Also, I just received my sliders today and got them mounted and was wondering if you had and problems with clearance for your brake lines on the driver side?

The Snugtop Rebel w/ HD frame upgrade and vented windoors. Going with a different color than the silver.
And yes, even when flipping the bolts (as CBi suggests) you still have some tension on them where they press against the bolt heads.
